Queen for a day!....

I've had this paper-called Deco Delights by Dovecraft- for ever just waiting for the perfect cart to come along...and it did...so here it is! Aren't the colours pretty? The paper is just a perfect match for this little kitty, and see that kitty on the inside of the card- she's cut from one of the papers! ( I added the little tiara!) The layout is very simple just two panels matted & layered on pink & black, using two different papers. I added ribbon to the top panel which was raised on foam pads. I decorated the bow with a daisy punched from black glittercard and a pink rose. I cut the kitty from black card, passed it through a Xyron and flocked it... I did the same for the pink cushion... I adhered a piece of lime green glitter paper behind the yes and added green gems to the collar, tiara and the tassels on the cushion. I cut 'Queen' & 'Day!' from pink glittercard with a black shadow and the 'for a' from black card to which I added black Stickles. The pink words were raised on foam pads and the other words glued flat. To finish the words I added some more bling.
I cut the interior sentiment from pink card with a black shadow.

Fashion Queen....

Sorry folks! I'll bore you rigid, I think, before I've finished showing off this cart! Believe me, there is lots more on it than the models... I just love 'em & can't stop!
For this card I used an old stack (last years I think) from DCWV and chose this lovely peachy/lemony/pinky paper. I made the usual easel base card and added an embossed panel foam tape mounted onto a contrast paper panel. I adhered this over a punched border. I cut out the model, dressed her in pink & yellow with pink pearl embellishments. I added a layered bow and flower and a sentiment cut from pink glittercard to the embossed panel. I added three large pink pearls under the sentiment. I added a pink glittercard crown to the shaped plaque on the stop along with some more large pink pearls.

Chic.....

I've another 'fashion' card for you today. Fot this card I stuck with a very simple colour pallete- various shades of pink & black. I cut the model & dressed her in a pink/gingham dress & hairband. I embossed white card for the main panels and matted onto pink card. I used a border punch for the edgings and added deep pink ribbon & a layered flower. I cut the words from white card which I embossed AFTER cutting and shadowed them with pink card. I cut the 'chic' plaque from white card with a pink base. To finish I added pink pearls to the front of the dress & across the stop.

Young Love.....

First of all I'd like to thank Enfys over at Going Buggy for her lovely comment on yesterday's post.. Thanks Enfys, you won't regret buying Forever Young.. it's FAB!
I made this one before the Style card of yesterday's post. It's an easel card again in a lovely pink & pale green colourway. I cut the scalloped frame from pale pink cardstock and adhered a piece of green floral paper from Papermania's Honey & Hugs collection. I cut the image from pink glittercard with a pale green shadow. I added ribbon, a bow & layered flower and a gemstone swirl or two. I cut the scalloped oval from white cardstock with a pale green shadow and cut the LOVE sentiment from glittercard. This was adhered to the 'stop' over green ribbon with addition of more gem swirls.

You've got style!....

Yipee!!! I got my new Forever Young cart yesterday and I can't tell you how FAB it is! It's chocca block with lovely silhouette models, clothes, perfume bottles, tags & frames, and absolutely beautiful 3-D bags that would make great party favours for a girls birthday party. For this card I cut a card base from white card and layered pink & white embossed cardstock and patterned paper. I lined the card with pink paper to show through the holes around the edge. I added a punched border, ribbon & a layered flower. I cut the 'model' from black card and the dress from patterned paper. I added some plum coloured flat backed pearls for jewellery and a glitter card belt. I cut the 'style' sentiment from glittercard with a blue shadow and added 'you've got' with rub-ons.

Anniversary wishes..part deux!

I made another two cards that are almost the same as the one that I posted yesterday...2 different versions of the same card. I made one more feminine for obvious reasons..just added a bow and flowers, and a slightly different layout for the sentiment. I LOVE these cards ..they are so cute but not overtly soppy!

Anniversary wishes.....

It was our 20th wedding anniversary yesterday and this is the card that I gave to my hubby. I wanted something dfifferent and I think that I got it! The card is predominately white, with a flash of colour. The white panel was embossed with a Fiskars texture plate and matted onto blue pearlescent cardstock from DCWV. I cut a panel from the Papermania Honey & Hugs paper and an extra set of owls. I adhered the owls to some card and then cut them out and adhered them onto the corresponding owls with foam pads. I cut out the '20' and the sentiments.. the sentiments are flat and the 20 raised. I punched some small hearts and added glitter to the white parts of the image to finish.

Best dressed.....

How about this for a teen card? When I saw the icons on the cart I thought that they were so girly and wanted to make a teen card with them...so here it is! I embossed a piece of white card with a swiss dots embossing folder and matted it onto pink cardstock. I cut a smaller mat from patterned paper by Papermania (Honey & Hugs Collection) added a smaller piece for contrast and a ribbon bow with layered flower. I cut the outfit and accessories from cardstock scraps (I embossed the pink frock) then assembled them and added them to the smaller panel. I positioned the outfit slightly off the panel for added dimension. I cut the sentiment from blue card matted onto pink (as was the inside sentiment), adhered it with foam pads and added some heart-shaped gems & glitter to finish.

Je t'aime...always

With Valentine's day creeping ever closer, this card would, I think, suit that day or even an anniversary card....or just to tell someone that you love them! The papers I used are from the All Loved Up collection from Dovecraft and are not blatantly valentiney (??) but they suit! I chose a red polka dotted paper for the background and a dark red heart print piece for the punched border. I edged it with a MS broderie anglaise punch and added some self-adhesive paper lace. I embossed a square of white card with tiny hearts and mounted it onto a scalloped square which was adhered with foam pads to the card base. I cut the heart from dark red glitter paper and adhered it to an identical heart cut from card to give it stability. I backed the heart with Papermania spotted glittered vellum and adheted it to the square with foam pads,I wrapped a piece of red grosgrain ribbon around the bottom corner of the square and added a bow and layered flower with a couple of paper tendrils. I cut the sentiment from red card and added red Stickles, punched some tiny red hearts to adorn the corners of the square and added gemstone swirls to the punched border to finish. I added another punced border and paper lace piece to the inside along with athe 'always' sentiment and some more punched hearts.

Whooo Loves you?.......

Is this the cutest owl or what?!!!! There are 2 on the Paisley cart but I chose this one because it is almost identical to the little owls on the Hugs and Honeys paper from Papermania. I used colours for the owl that were the same as those on the paper. I embossed the face, wings and tummy with a swiss dots folder.I added a circle to the owl's tummy instead of rows of feathers and some googly eyes for realism! I made a scalloped panel for the owl to sit on decorated with a layered flower and bow. I cut the sentiments from pink Bazzill and layered the letters with hot pink card. I adhered the sentiments flat to the card and the 'stop' and added some punched hearts. I added glitter for a finishing touch.

p.s See those little tendril thingies on the flower? They are so easy to make- just take a piece of cardstock, lay a ruler along one edge as close to the edge as is possible and cut a sliver away with a craft knife. As the cardstock is cut away a little tendril is formed! Just cut it to size and adhere with a dot of PVA. I'll be using a lot of these!!!

Bee happy!.....

I got my Paisley cartridge yesterday after waiting 2 months for it... and oh! it was worth the wait! It's chocca block full of whimsical icons, from the cutest bees & butterflies, and mushrooms to teen clothes, MP3 players and mobile phones..the list goes on! This cute little fella jumped from the handbook and said "make meeeeee!..." So I did! I used scraps of bazzill for the bee and both of the flowers..in fact this cart is ideal for using all those little bits of cardstock that you can't bear to chuck away. All of the icons have got a retro feel about them so you can use zany colours or even patterned paper scraps. I used an easel format card again, papers from DCWV (I knew that that bumblebee paper would be used one day!) and a scrap of yellow gingham paper. I added some spotty ribbon and plenty of glitter. This would make an ideal kiddies card or even one for a fun-loving friend.

So In Love....

First off....sorry about the photo quality- it's a little dark but I think that you can see the details fairly clearly!
This card uses the same layout as the 'sister' card but I've substituted the scalloped circle for a scalloped heart. I used double-sided papers from MME Be-Loved collection. The heart, decorative corner and 'Love' were cut from Gemstones shimmer cardstock. The pink heart was a scalloped heart but I cut off the scallops! I added a layered flower, gemstones swirls to the heart and gems under the bow, some heart print ribbon and rub-ons for the 'so in' part of the sentiment.

Sister....

I don't use butterflies on my cards...I have a lifelong aversion (for that read PHOBIA!!!) to moths (shudder!!!) and butterflies are just too close to moths for comfort! I'm not as bad with butterflies as I am with moths but they come a close second... Anyhow, I found this sweet little flutterby and I LOVE IT!!! I've used it on a few cards and it just adds a little bit of whimsey to a card... and they fill up space beautifully!
This card (just a boring square I'm afraid!) is based on a sketch from Taylored Expressions. I used Paermania papers and Bazill & DCWV cardstock. The white circle is embossed and decorated with layered flowers, 3 little glittercard flutterers and the 'sister' sentiment cut from pink glittercard. I added a ribbon bow & some gems to finish.

Just for you!...

Well, I'm back! I've done everything that I needed to do for my workshop tomorrow so I can concentrate on my blog! I've been very naughty on the cartridge front too! I've ordered 4 new ones ( I MUST BE NUTS!!!) 2 regular and 2 Special edition...Paisley (I've waited 2 months for it to get back in stock!) Forever Young, Love Struck & Mother's Day. I'm gonna have such fun next week when they all arrive...It'll be like Christmas all over again! Anyway, back to the card. I've used an image again from the Forever Friends pad used in a previous post and new Papermania papers. The card is an easel card and this time I used a square panel holding the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment as the stop. I added the usual ribbon, layered flowers and gems. I cut the Just For You sentiment from glitter card and adhered it with foam pads.

Big Hat Day?......

I went to The Range the other day and they were putting out all the new Do-Crafts stuff. About blummin' time too! This stuff has been advertised in the Creativity mag since before Christmas and I couldn't wait to get my itchy little mitts on it! This is only one collection.. I bought 4 others and there are still more to get. This one is from the Pink Parfait collection. Some of the sheets have these lovely Forever Friends bears on them, so I decided to use them as embellishments. I cut the bear out roughly and adhered it to some thin card. Then I cut it out precisely with some small pointed scissors. I made up an easel card with a large stop, using 3 designs from the pad. I cut a scalloped rectangle and added a smaller rectangle of patterned paper to it. I adhered the bear to this panel with foam pads. I cut out the ' Big Hat Day?' sentiment from dark pink card and adhered it to the top panel. I then added the panel with the bear on it using foam pads. I cut 'celebrate' from the same dark pink card and adhered it over the ribbon on the stop. A bow, layered flower and some gems finish the card.
