So Gorgeous!........

Hi all! I've got just one more corset card to show you, I promise! This is a hot pink and black lace little number, always a good combo. It had the same treatment as the other corsets and to this one I added pink pearls and a hot pink bow. I cut a pink panel and added script paper, then adhered a satin ribbon bow to the top right hand corner. The corset was adhered to the panel with foam pads. The 'So Gorgeous!' sentiment was generated onto white card, trimmed with deckle-edged scissors then matted onto pink cardstock. It was adhered beneath the central panel. Some black gems, a WOC pearl (coloured with permanant markers) and bloom and a couple of die-cut leaves completes the card.

Bridal corsetry..........

Here's another card using the fab corset from Tie The Knot. I gave it the same treatment in the bustage area, and this time I made it from white pearlised cartdstock, embossing the underneath layer to look like lace. I added some stitching detail with a dressmakers wheel, three pearls on the bodice and a narrow white bow on the bra section. The corset was adhered to a scalloped square cut from blue cardstock. I threaded some narrow ribbon through the scallops and added a pearl to each corner. More ribbon was added across the square along with a gauzy flower with pearl centre. I computer generated the sentiment ' For A Beautiful Bride On Her Wedding Day' onto white card, trimmed it and matted it onto blue card. It was adhered to the card front with foam pads. The card base is an 8x8 square and the papers are Papermania's Vintage Notes.

Ooh La La!.........

Here is the card that I promised you yesterday. Is it saucy do you think? Maybe not in a 'seaside postcard' kind of way, but maybe a Dita Von Tees way? I got my mitts on the Tie The Knot cart that was on special at Cutting Edge Crafts. I've had my eye on it for a while and went for it last week, and I'm glad I did because it has some beautiful images on it. I've played around a bit with this one though because it was a little 'buxom' to say the least- Nell Gwynne at worst!!! I trimmed away quite a lot of 'bustage' and I think it looks a lot better. I used some lace effect paper from the DCWV Street Lace pad and some black pearlised cardstock. I added some black pearls to the bodice and a teeny black bow to the bra section. The completed corset was adhered to a shaped panel with black gem embellishments, then adhered to the front of the card, slightly offset to the left. A grosgrain ribbon and bow, a WOC bloom, some die cut leaves and a computer generated sentiment completes the card.

With all my love.......

Hubby and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary on Sunday. We don't go over the top celebrating, we just buy wine, choccies, flowers and sometimes go for a meal. This time we went to the flicks to see Les Mis. It's an amazing film and who thought Anne Hathaway could sing ?! She gave SuBo a run for her money! What little screen time she had she totally owned and sang with such feeling. By the end of the film there was hardly a dry eye in the house. Now I want to see the stage show! Go see it if you have the chance.
On to my card. I made this 8x8 square using paper from Dovecraft's Art Deco A4 pack and a 6x6 piece of script paper from my stash. Both panels were matted onto burgundy cardstock, and the central panel was adhered with foam tape. The bottle was cut from burgundy pearlised card and I added a hand-cut label. The wine glasses were cut from silver mirri . The bottle and glasses were adhered with foam pads. The sentiment was cut from burgundy cardstock and adhered flat. The rose stem was hand cut with punched leaves, and I added a small rose head. Burgundy pearls in opposing corners completes the card.

Congratulations........

Now, I have a lot of carts (I have to as I teach Cricut) but obviously I don't have all of them! Some of my ladies have carts that I don't, and at a workshop I was leafing through the handbooks of a couple of carts and thought 'why don't I have these?!!' So I bought them, and I'm so glad that I did because they are beauties!
I made this 8x8 square card with one of my new carts. It could be a wedding card or just a general congratulatiuons card- I made this with 'wedding' in mind. I used silver embossed paper matted onto pearlised blue cardstock as the backing and then cut a beautiful filagree frame with 'congratulations' cut into it, from silver mirri, with a blue pearlised shadow. Before fixing the panel to the card front, I wrapped some very pretty ribbon around the right-hand side of the panel and added a bow and floral spray. It was fixed to the card front with foam tape. Four pearls adhered to the corners of the frame completes the card.

A New Job.......

Just before Christmas, Krishnan (no.1 son) was offered a job in the legal department of The London Legacy Company, the company overseeing the sale and future of the Olympic Park and it's associated venues. We were really chuffed for him as he'd secured a job previously that turned out to be a scam! But this one is legit and to say that he's loving it is an understatement! I made him this card to wish him luck. I wanted a city skyline, unfortunately this is not a London one, but New York will do! I cut the skyline from newsprint paper (a Pink Petticoat download) but stopped the cut part way through so that the I was left with a full page piece of paper rather than a 'border' effect. I trimmed it to fit the front of a C5 card and adhered it to a piece of grey cardstock, then matted it with black. The city gent was cut from black and white cardstock and adhered to the card with foam pads. 'A New Job' was cut from more PP paper, this time a negative print, shadowed with black cardstock then adhered with more foam pads. 'Good Luck' was cut from black cardstock and adhered in the grey space at the top of the card.

Sofia.....

Sofia, no.1 son's girlfriend, was 22 on Sunday, so I sent her this card. I used an 8" square card for the base and papers from the beautiful new First Edition pad 'Rose Garden' which are beautifully vintage and go so well with this lovely dress form. I used bookprint paper to cut a postage stamp-style frame with shadow to hold the sentiment, and adhered it to the card front with foam pads. The dress form was cut from my very favourite of all mirri card colours, gunmetal grey. I prettied it up a bit with some narrow ribbon (the ribbon hangers cut from clothing) and a small rose. I adhered it to one corner of the frame and in the opposite corner, a floral arrangement with heart shaped pin. 'Happy Birthday' was cut from gunmetal mirri and adhered flat, and 'Sofia' was cut from pink shimmer card and adhered with foam pads. a smattering of pearls completes the card.

Mum......

It was my Mum's birthday at the end of November and this is the card that I made for her. I went to see her just before her birthday, and before I went to India (I took the picture in her dining room in a hurry. That's why the picture is rubbish!) The card base is an offset gatefold 8" square, and the papers are from Creative Cardmaking mag. I cut a panel with 'dipped' corners to hold a very glamorous looking cake! The cake was cut from silver mirri and brown and lilac pearlised cardstock. I added a satin bow with flower pin, some die-cut leaves and a WOC floral arrangement. The sentiment was computer generated and a smattering of pearls completes the card.

More Indian wedding cards......

When we went to India last month I came back for Christmas, but my hubby stayed on until the new year due to his giving a lecture at a medical conference in Indore. He was also scheduled to attend two weddings, but only went to one as unfortunately he lost two elderly relatives after the first wedding, and as it is considered inauspiscious to attend a wedding after a death in the family he didn't attend the second wedding. Fortunately the bride at the second wedding is the daughter of my hubby's colleague so he was able to deliver the card to her dad to be passed on.
I was pushed for time making these cards, so I decided to use the same design but change the orientation to make them different. The card bases are a standard A5, and I made one portrait and one landscape. The papers are silver embossed, a gift from Tammy at the Paper Gourmet in Canada, and the beautiful lattice shape was cut from white pearlised card backed with silver mirri.. Each panel was embellished with silver flourishes, white paper roses, pearl strands and a voile bow. The letters (yes, both sets of brides and grooms had the same initials!!) were cut from white pearlised cardstock shadowed with silver mirri, then adhered to the panels with foam pads. A smattering of pearls completes the cards.

Pia's presents.......

Hi peeps, I'm back...Mr Blogger has sobered up and is behaving himself (for now at least)
Do you remember the present stack card that I made as a commission before Christmas? Well, I liked it so much that I made another one, this time in 8" square format, for our friends' daughter Pia who's birthday was on Boxing Day. I used papers from a DCWV stack called Street Lace, in this beautiful aqua and black colour combo. I made it in exactly the same way as the commission card. By the way, that shoe box is NOT that bright in real life! The name, shoe and bag were cut from glittercard, and I added narrow ribbon bows (those ribbon hangers cut from clothes sure come in handy don't they!!!) a larger aqua satin bow, and a smattering of pearls to finish.

Welcome Lois Pearl......

Here is the card that I promised you yesterday, this time for Harry's cousin Lois Pearl. As I said yesterday, when this card was ordered she hadn't been born and I was a bit worried in case the parents changed the name! I'm assuming that everything went to plan as I didn't hear anything to the contrary!
The card base is an A4 and again, the papers are downloads from Pink Petticoat. The beautiful vintage Silver Cross-style pram was cut from silver mirri and pink pearlised cardstock. I added some daisy trim to the hood and pearls to the wheel hubs. 'Welcome' and 'Lois Pearl' were cut from pink glittercard and adhered with foam pads. A sheer ribbon bow, WOC rose and a smattering of daisies completes the card.

Welcome Harry.....

Back in October I was asked to make a couple of new arrival cards..one for a baby already here, Harry, and one for a baby girl who wasn't yet born (although she is now!) Today I'm showcasing Harry's card. The card size is an A4 and the papers are downloads from Pink Petticoat. I used my usual commission card layout. The baby was cut from white paper, coloured with ProMarkers. I didn't like the face on the cut, so I cut a blackout face layer, and created a different face with Pro Markers......

...with this result. I was really pleased with the sweet, cherubic look. I gave him a pearlised, embossed cloud and a glittery moon to lie on. I added a teeny pom-pom to his hat and a trio of punched stars above his head.
'Welcome' and 'Harry' were cut from white glittercard and adhered to the card with foam pads. A sheer bow and a smattering of punched stars completes the card.
