Quick as a flash wedding card!

It's not only my kids that need cards- my hubby does too! This card is for him to take to Dubai on Wednesday! The son of a friend of ours is getting married on Thursday and this is for him and his wife to be - Congrats Shakti & Ambika!!!
I cheated with this card 'cos I made it at 10pm on Thursday night , and you will notice that there is absolutely NO Cricut stuff on it!! What!!! I know- what was I thinking! Anyway I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I used a ready made embellishment (gasp!!) which was a freebie with a card-making mag (can't remember which one!) It's really pretty- two doves on a heart in pearlised card. I just cut way the doves from one heart and layered them onto the other complete heart. I cut a panel slightly smaller than the front of the card, layered into mirri card and trimmed it to form a border. Then I cut a panel of glittered Papermania vellum, passed it through a Xyron and matted it onto silver mirri. I cut a small square of pearl grey wedding script paper & matted it onto silver (again!). White swirl printed ribbon was wrapped around the large panel before it was adhered to the card base, then all the other panels were stuck onto this. The doves were added with dimensionals on the script panel.I added a layered flower with a ribbon bow and a brad through it and finished off with self adhesive pearls. Not bad for 15 minutes work!!! Sometimes I think really good pieces of work happen when you are under pressure or pushed for time! Anyone agree?

U Got Mail!!!!!

Yet another card for my youngest to give to a friend! This time for a friend who likes computers! I used Papermania paper for this one. I thought it looked quite techie!!! I cut out a laptop from gunmetal grey pearlised card and silver card, hand cut a mouse and layered it on to the Papermania panels I added some co-ordinating Papermania brads which had been put through little circles of card and added 'U got mail'. The 'U' is on dimensionals and the 'got mail' is flat. The mouse was connected to the laptop with a piece of card cut into a wavy shape. I added Opal Dust glitter again to the 'got mail' part of the sentiment.

U Rock!!

My kids keep me busy with orders for cards for their friends! I made this one for my youngest's friend Bruce. He plays the Bass guitar so I made this card for him. I used the Rock Star pad by DCWV. I cut out a Flying V guitar and layered it onto a star and added a tattoo and the words 'U rock!' I then added some great glitter called Opal Dust by Jo Sonja. It's great stuff with tiny circles of glitter in an irredescent glue base. Sorry about the glare in the photo but thats glitter and mirri card for ya!!!

Rosie

I made this card for my eldest son's friend Rosie.
It is another of the great Wild Cards. I cut out the card base and then a liner from Nana's Nursery Girl by DCWV. I covered the back of the card with paper from the same pad and trimmed to fit. A piece of ribbon was tied around the narrowest part of the card and a handbag charm added with a tiny pink safety pin. Flowers in colours to match the paper and some assorted brads were added to the bottom half of the card and 'ROSIE' to the top half. The name was on dimensionals. Happy birthday was added into the aperture (this is on the cart) and the whole card was glittered to finish. With this car as with any other rounded card you need to take the timiest sliver off the bottom to make it stand properly.

Happy Birthday Mum!

It was my Mum's birthday last Saturday so I made her this card. I posted it on Thursday (in good time I thought!) and she hadn't received it by Saturday..nor Monday...Tuesday... You get the picture! Then she phoned me Thursday to say that Dad had picked it up from the PO and had to pay 14p extra postage.Bloody cheek! I put a LARGE stamp on it!! Anywho, I stepped out of my comfort zone with this card and indulged in some stamping. I stamped the calender onto white card(that was my 1st attempt, didn't like it-too much of a contrast to the vintage look-ditched it!)I re-stamped onto beige paper and it looked right! I added some flowers lovely satin scalloped ribbon some brads and a Cricut generated sentiment-et Voila!
