Smitten.....

You've gotta love 'freebie' papers- although these aren't strictly free, they were with Creative Cardmaking - especially when they are matt and good quality. So many free papers are glossy and absolutely useless because they are printed back to back and you can see the other side through them. Creative Cardmaking's papers are always good especially when they are offering Nit-Wit collections, which these are. I used 3 different papers, 2 love-themed and a plaid. The layout is ultra simple, pinched from somewhere on 'tinternet, can't remember where, sorry! The orange panel was matted onto a white border with MS punch edging, then a smaller love-words panel was adhered over it with foam pads. The cherub was cut from orange glittercard with an orangey-red heart adhered with silicone glue to add dimension and to make sure it stays put! 'Smitten' was cut from more glittercard with a white cardstock shadow. Three punched hearts, smaller hearts scattered around the cherub and some orange ribbon complete the front. The inside was very simply finished with a punched border (I've since added another panel to the centre of the inside of the card-it was too plain!)

Wedding Acceptance....

The lady who commissoned me to make yesterday's card also asked me to make this one. I've never been asked to make an acceptance card before but I'm game for anything! The card is C6 in size (I stopped making this size of card yonks ago but it's a good size for this type of card)
I used champagne coloured pearlised card which I embossed with a scrumptious embossing folder by Papermania- at just £2.99 it was a steal!-it may be cheap but the resulting embossing is on a par with anything from Cuttlebug & Sizzix. The embossed card was then matted onto gold mirri. I punched the edge of a piece of gold mirri with an MS punch and wrapped it in gold ribbon then adhered it to the embossed piece. The bells were cut twice (once on Layer function)and the top pair was embossed with a rose embossing folder, then adhered to the other set of bells with foam pads. I added gold gems as clangers and then adhered it to the centre of the punched panel with foam pads. 'Acceptance' was cut from gold mirri and adhered flat below the border. The card was finished with more gold gems.

Twenty One.....

This card was a commission, and the brief was A4 size, musical and for a girl. I was about to do a Hannah Montana-style jobby when I thought that I really ought to check the details (I hadn't taken them) and it's a good job that I did because the recipient was 21! I don't think that she would have appreciated my original idea!
I've had this paper for EVAH! It's DCWV, I think, and I didn't have much left of the stack but I did manage to find a couple of full sheets which was enough. The card is very simple with a large central panel matted & layered and wrapped with sheer ribbon. I cut a guitar from holographic purple card with a silver mirri solid base. I added a layered bloom, gems to the string tightening thingies(!!!) and to the body of the guitar below the flower. I cut '21' from silver mirri with purple shadow and added some gems. Some silver notes scattered about complete the card.

Anniversary wishes...

It was my sister & BIL's wedding anniversary on Saturday and this is the card that I made for them. The papers are by Bo Bunny and although they were released for Valentine's day I thought that they would make a funky Anniversary card. The couple were cut from aqua mirri card and 'Anniversary' from copper mirri card. I added a layered bloom and cream spotted ribbon. The inside was decorated with a punched border, a sentiment panel and small punched hearts.

Find Your Way Home II.............

As promised here's the masculine version of yesterday's card. I used papers from DCWV Naturals stack and an MS punch. I used copper mirri card for the lighthouse and matting the borders. The lighthouse is the solid portion of the cut and could be embossed for extra detail. I added some card candy to the shaped panel and just below it. The sentiment was cut from copper & silver mirri and adhered with foam pads. Another lighthouse & punched border complete the inside of the card.

Find your way home......

Isn't that the loveliest saying? I thought that it would be a lovely card to give to someone going away for a while, and letting them know that they'll always be welcome to come home. I made 2 versions of this card- I'll show the masculine version tomorrow. I used the scrumptious Summer Bloom papers again and kept the layout simple. I cut the lighthouse with flourish from dark aqua glittercard and the solid lighthouse from pink mirri. I layered them up and then adhered the complete lighthouse to a shaped panel cut from green spotted paper and matted onto pink card. 'Find your way home' was cut from more glittercard and mirri and adhered with foam pads.Sheer ribbon, pearls, and a layered bloom complete the front of the card. The inside of the card was decorated with a punched paper border and another, smaller lighthouse cut from mirri card.

Inspire......

There are many butterflies on various carts, but this has to be among my favourites. It's just the prettiest thing and cuts beautifully. This one was cut from pink glittercard and adhered loosely over a solid cut from pale pink mirri card which I embossed with Cuttlebug folder. A layered flower and pearls were added to the body. Papermania's Summer Bloom papers were used again for this card. The slim panel was edged with an MS punch, and some sheer ribbon and pearls embellish it. 'Inspire' was cut from more glittercard and mirri and adhered below the ribbon with foam pads. The inside of the card was decorated with another punched strip and a mirri card butterfly border.

Happy Birthday Sis!....

It was my birthday yesterday...I hit the Big 50!... and today it's my little sister's turn (she's 3 years and 1 day younger than me) Happy Birthday Valerie! For her card I used the same card style & layout as Holli's, posted yesterday.
I used Papermania's new Summer Bloom papers which are DIVINE! I cut a birdcage twice from white glossy card, and a pink & aqua glittercard birdy to go inside. The cage was embellished with pink mirri strips, aqua pearls and fine silver cord. It was then was adhered to a slim panel decorated with aqua spotted ribbon and a Prima Bloom. 'Sister' was cut from aqua glittercard and adhered with foam pads. The inside of the card was decorated with more patterned paper and a sentiment panel with punched corners.

Blessed Day....

My super-cute great niece Holli Olivia (Chelsea's little sister) was christened yesterday and this is the card that I made for her. I used a lovely Baptism script paper and lilac spotty paper from Papermania's Back To Basics pack. I cut about 2" off the front of the card and decorated the cut edge with an MS punch. I covered the inside back of the card with spotty paper and the front with the script paper. I cut a panel from the same paper and a scrap of the spotted paper and matted it onto white card. I cut a cross from silver mirri with a purple pearlescent backing which was embossed with a swiss dots folder. Blessed Day, Holli, and the date details were cut from more pearlescent card and glittered after being adhered to the card back. The cross was decorated with assorted roses and some leaves. White velvet ribbon and a bow decorate the bottom portion of the narrow panel. A sentiment panel with punched corners for the inside completes the card.

C'est la vie.......

Here's another beautiful Wall Decor cut for you. I used freebie papers for this one, piecing them together to fit the A5 card as they are 6 x 6. I really don't know why companies are still producing 6 x 6 papers..nobody I know makes C6 cards any more and we don't sell them in the shop. I use 7 x5 cards for my workshops...you get such a large area to work on and with the Cricut the larger surface you have to work on the better as some cuts are better cut at larger sizes. Anyhow, back to the card.. I covered the join in the papers with a punched border embellished with ribbon and a bloom. The Eiffel Tower was cut from green mirri and pink glitter card, then adhered with foam pads to a matted panel. The sentiment was cut from more mirri & glitter card then adhered with foam pads. Three large pearls were added above the panel. The pearls were pale green so I darkened 'em up a bit with a green permanent marker. The inside of the card was finished with a punched panel & another tower cut from glittercard.

Dance......

Have you ever bought a cart because of just ONE cut on it? I have! Several times! This is the cut that sold this cart to me. She is just gorgeous! She comes in 2 parts..a solid and a cut out. Here I used both but if you just used the solid you could add a real tutu made from gathered lace or a scrap of tulle. I have positioned her so that she is standing on pointes but on the cart she looks as though she is jumping through the air...it just balanced the card better with her in this position.
I cut her from pink & cream glittercard and mounted her onto a panel of cream card embossed with a divine swirl embossing folder. Papers are K & Co. I added spotted sheer ribbon. a rose, leaves and some pink pearls. 'Dance' was cut from more glitter card. The inside was decorated with a punched border topped by a border of dancers, and a blank sentiment panel.

Happy Birthday Chelsea!....

Today my great-niece Chelsea is 5- Happy Birthday Chelsea!- and this is the card that I made for her. It's a super DL, a piece of A4 folded in half lengthways. I made an envelope for it from a piece of A3 paper from an Artist sketch Pad as I hadn't got an envelope to fit. I used DCWV papers, Smirk ribbon and self-adhesive floral trim from Dovecraft. 'Chelsea' was cut from sparkle card and the no 5 was cut from pink spotted paper. 'Chelsea' was adhered with foam pads and the no 5 adhered to a pink scalloped circle topped with green spotted paper. I added a punched border to the inside of the card with 'happy birthday' cut from more pink sparkle card.
A small net butterfly adhered to the no 5 and gems adhered to the centres of the floral trim finishes the card.

Hello!........

I've been playing with a new cart and boy is it GORGEOUS! If you have and love Summer In Paris you'll LOVE this one even more! It's full of beautiful images which have a scrolly element and a plain element to each cut so that you can make femine or masculine cards from the same cut, or combine them as I've done here. I used a different layout for this, cutting the front of the card off by about 3" and adding a panel to hold the image. I used Papermania papers and an MS punch to decorate both the back and the front of the card. I cut the retro phone from white glitter card with a pink mirri card blackout portion behind it so that the scrolled design is highlighted. I added some definition to the cord with a dressmaker's wheel. I also cut 'Hello' from white glitter card and pink mirri, adhering it below the phone and above the bow on the pale pink panel. I added some flowers and leaves and decorated the inside of the card with a white sentiment panel and another phone cut with the 'border' setting, from more pink mirri. Some card candy completes the card.

The Perfect Pair........

Hi all! Hope you are all enjoying the weekend! As this is wedding season I thought that I'd conjour up a wedding card. I got the idea from Becca Fekken's blog Amazing Paper Grace (on my sidebar)- she made her shoes from templates- I used the Bug! I used some lovely pearlised paper from a pad (Anna Griffin, I think) some plain, some embossed and some patterned. I used a simple layout with the sentiment oval at the centre of the card. I cut the bride's shoe & sentiment from white glittercard and the groom's shoe from black & gunmetal mirri card. I pierced some holes in the groom's shoe and threaded black embroidery thread through them with a needle, fastening the loose ends at the back of the shoe. I then made a bow from more thread and adhered it with a spot of PVA. I added satin ribbon, a lovely camelia , some mini roses, leaves
and 3 pearl strands. I added more pearls to the top 2 corners of the purple panel. I added more paper, a punched border inside along with another scalloped oval to hold your handwritten or stamped sentiment and 3 small punched hearts.

Shoes & sentiment- Sweethearts
Scalloped ovals- Storybook
Plain ovals- George
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thanks for looking!

Fore!........

Here's a couple of cards for budding Tiger (Tigress!) Woods'. Again, they are made in exactly the same way as the previous 'ball sport' cards that I've posted. I used Bo-Bunny & DCWV papers. I think that my favourite of the two cards is the ladies one..I especially like the way she appears to be preparing to hit the ball on the 'I love Golf' stop. I added the tee below the ball for effect. The sentiments on these cards could be changed for 'Good Luck', 'Well Done' etc for the competition golfers in your life!
