I used an 8" square card base and some old Dovecraft paper matted onto brown cardstock on the front. I cut a 'cage', which was originally a circus wagon from which I chopped the decorative top and wheels. I used this cut to create an aperture in the front of the card, over which I adhered the cage. I added the birthday sentiment and 'KRISHNAN' cut from brown cardstock. Happy birthday was adhered flat and 'KRISHNAN' was adhered with foam pads. I asked Krishnan to send me a photo of Higgins, which I printed off twice and decoupaged. I then placed him in a VERY clean cage setting using torn handmade paper for bedding. Now, Higgins can eat. He ate me out of house and home when he was with me. He got through almost a whole cucumber and god knows how much spinach (hence the speech bubble!) EVERY day! He knew when I opened the fridge door (our kitchen is at the end of the family room where Higgins lived) and weeked (that's what guinea pig squeaking is called!) like a mad thing 'til I fed him. He was quite fat when he went home!
The 'spinach' sentiment was computer generated using Wish I was Taller font then cut into a speech bubble shadowed with brown cardstock.
Krishnan loved his card and all his friends thought it was funny!
Carts used:
Cage (circus wagon)- Life's A Party
Speech bubble- George
Happy Birthday & KRISHNAN- Lyrical Letter (Jumbo font)
Thanks for dropping by!
