Not that our niece Anita needs an excuse! It was her birthday last month and this is the card that I made her. I got inspiration for this card from my local gift shop that has some really nice girly cards featuring silhouettes. The original had a girl leaning over the top of a pair of shoes, but I wanted mine leaning against a pair of shoes. So I cut out a ginormous shoe from black and red mirri and chopped it to fit the card which is an 8x8 square.
I then cut the figure twice (one flipped) from black pearlised cardstock and once from red glittercard. I changed the left arm by cutting it off and adding the right arm from the second figure so that both elbows were crooked (in the original cut the left arm is extended upwards. I then removed the head and arms from the red glittercard figure, shaping the front of the dress and adding shoestring straps to cover the join in the arm. I blinged up the figure with red and clear gems, then adhered her to the shoe.
The background paper is a Printable Heaven download, matted onto black and red cardstock. I added a wide satin ribbon and bow, and the name cut from black glittercard. The sentiment was computer generated, matted then adhered to the card with foam pads.
