5 today.....

Here's a summery little card for you! I wanted to make a 'numeral' card for a child's birthday and this floral paper from Creative Cardmaking mag fitted the bill nicely. I chose number 5 (don't know why!), cut it from white card and paper, then adhered both pieces together. I enhanced the 5 with a dressmaker's wheel and added a layered bloom and 3 cute flutterbys. The card was covered in yellow floral paper matted onto blue cardstock, a green spotted panel, and a border which was decorated with my fave MS punch. I wrapped ribbon around the border and added a bow. This was adhered to the card front with foam tape and the no 5 adhered over it. 'Today' was cut from blue glittercard and adhered flat to the spotty panel. The inside was decorated with a simple punched border and 'Happy Birthday' cut from blue card.

You make me melt!..........

Wouldn't you just love to take a chunk out of this lolly?! Look at all that chocolate dripping from that strawberry delight!!!!! It was certainly lolly weather yesterday but we've just had a downpour with brilliant sunshine-how mad is that?!!! This card was made with the scrummy Piece of Cake papers from Dovecraft and I made the lolly to match. I cut the lolly first from beige card and then used a Tombow pen and blender to colour in the stick portion to add some dimension. The lolly was then cut in pink glittercard and the chocolate portion was cut from brown glittercard and adhered to the pink portion with silicone glue. I cut a couple of extra 'drips' and these were adhered with foam pads. The front of the card was cut on a diagonal and enhanced with an MS punch. I added ribbon and a bow to the border and a large Prima bloom behind the lolly. I cut the sentiment from brown card, adhered it to the card, covered it with glue, then when dry, chucked brown glitter over it. A matted sentiment square finishes the card.

Swarm Project- Box- framed monogram.....

I hosted a Swarm yesterday and as usual I had a blast! The ladies turned out some fab cards and even fabber(??!) versions of this. I always provide the ladies with something to make during the Swarm. It's entirely up to them whether they make it on the day or take it home....yesterday everyone made one and they all did a grand job!
These boxes a really easy to meke and they can be made in different sizes and with different contents... you can really let your imagination run wild!
To make the box I cut a Matchbox tray from TTB&M in white stiff card and I cut another in paper for the liner. I constructed the box, added the liner and then put it to one side. The frame was cut from card and paper, then adhered together. A piece of thick cardstock-weight acetate was fixed behind the aperture. I cut a scalloped oval and a smaller plain oval which was then embossed with a Divine Swirl folder. The completed oval was adhered to the inside of the box. The letter was cut from card and paper, adhered together then decorated with pearl strands and a layered bloom. This was then fixed to the oval mat with 3 layers of foam pads. To fix the frame to the box I cut 4 x 1" pieces of card, folded them in half and adhered them to the top outside edges of the box, trimming them to fit, forming a ledge to rest the frame on. The frame was then adhered to the ledges, sealing the contents. To hang the box, I punched a large circle from white card and punched a smaller hole in it. This was then attached to the centre top of the box leaving a semi-circle, with the hole in it, to facilitate hanging.

The largest box than be cut on the original bug is 5 1/2" .The frame is cut 1/2" smaller.

Mwah!, Mwah!....

Here's a little bit of silliness for you to start the weekend! I've had this lovely, lip-print ribbon for yonks and have only just broken into it to make this! I used the Dovecraft Back To Basics pack and a very simple layout using 3 patterned papers. I wrapped the heart print panel with the lippy ribbon and added a sumptuous bow. I cut some Mick Jagger-ish lips from hot pink (oh yes it is!) mirror card with paler pink blackout behind. 'Mwah! mwah!' was cut in individual letters, adhered onto paler pink mirri and then cut out in one piece. These were adhered at an angle with foam pads on the square panel below the lips. I added a bloom and pink punched glittercard hearts. Another pair of lips embellish the inside of the card.

I've seen a preview of the new 24 Lite carts and I have to say that if we don't get them on this side of the pond (it appears that they are exclusive to Walmart!) I shall spit nails! IT'S CRUEL I TELLS YA! Those bloggy gals over the pond get to play with them, but us European/Rest Of The World gals have to sit & drool in vain! Typical of Provocraft to neglect US as usual!

Sweetie......

Isn't this the cutest little fairy?! I decided to put her on a easel card and use the lovely Dovecraft papers from the Back To Basics pack. I used 3 different patterned papers to cover the front and base and to make 2 matted panels and the 'stop'. I cut the fairy panel from pink glittercard-boy did she NOT want to come off the mat!- and adhered her flat to an embossed scalloped oval. Her wings and the 2 hearts in 'poof!' were enhanced with glitter glue. I added a couple of flowers and some star shaped glittery beads. For the base I punched a border for the 'stop' wrapped with ribbon and a bow. I cut 'sweetie' from the same glittercard as the fairy, hand-shadowed it with white card, and then adhered it with foam pads along with 3 hearts that were waste from the fairy cut. I added a smaller scalloped rectangle behind the 'stop' for a greeting.There is a pirate on the cart so this card could be adapted for a boy with different papers and sentiment.

Truly, madly, deeply.....

First of all, apologies for the quality of the photo. No 2 son was playing on the PS3 and the curtains were closed against the sun so the light was reduced but I think that you should be able to see the card in enough detail. I made this card for my brother & SIL's anniversary last Saturday. I used paper from K & Co for this one. I covered the front of the card with an abstract floral print and adhered a smaller floral panel which was 'roughed up a bit!' To this I added a large tag with a punched border of contrast paper and a ribbon bow and a lovely Prima full blown rose. The image was cut from grey sparkle card and adhered with foam pads. I spelled out 'Truly', 'Madly' & Deeply' with Heidi rub-ons onto small pieces of card, trimmed and adhered with foam pads.The inside of the card was decorated with a simple floral strip and a Safmat computer generated sentiment.
