Dream.....

To be quite honest there's not a whole lot of anything Buggy going on on this card, but I had an idea based on the Tim Holtz Bingo card embossing folder, and a vintage image and thought that the sentiment fitted it perfectly. That bingo card was made with card from the old Paper Mill boxes which are no longer in use (they've gone back to their old, much missed,full ream boxes! Yaay!), so don't throw them away..they are like Kraft cardstock and it embosses bee-a-ootifully! I used vintage look papers, a vintage photo image, Prima-style flowers that I made myself using a punch/emboss system and a hat pin. I cut 'dream' from cream cardstock and glittered it lightly after adhereing it to the card. I added a sage green ribbon and bow adding the hat pin before I adhered it to the card. When using hat pins I always put a silver bugle bead on the end to prevent puncture accidents! A scattering of pearls and a punched border and another flower inside the card are the finishing touches.

Anyone for tennis?....

Here's a couple more topical sport cards..this time tennis. Again I made one for gals and one for the guys. The cards were made in exactly the same way as yesterday's cards. I used double-sided Bo-Bunny papers, using the reverse side for the bottom portion of the card. I added a silver mirri tennis racquet to the gal's card and I also flipped the guy. These cards are best done in a minimal palette with splashes of black.

COME ON ENGER-LAND!!!!!!......

As I type we are 1 goal down.. same old, same old! Oh well, all is not lost! Good Luck lads..you're gonna need it! Anyhoo, onto the cards. Very topical wouldn't you say? I made 2 of these..one for the lads and one for the lassies. I used the same card base that I used for the Father's Day card posted last week. I used footy word papers for the top portion of the cards and grass paper (DCWV) for the lad card and plain green paper for the lassies card. I cut large footballs for both cards adhered with foam pads and the footballers (lad footballer was flipped) cut from black bazzill with red strip. I cut extra, smaller footballs for embellishments. For the lad card I cut a football border topped with 'Score' ( Whoops ..2 down now!) which was adhered with foam tape to form the stop. For the girl's card I cut 'I Love Soccer' in white shadowed with black and a red heart, for the stop. Yaay! 2-1! I cut 'Happy Birthday' shadowed with black and adhered with foam pads. Bigger Yaay! 2-2!

Happy Birthday Lauren!.....

It was my niece Lauren's birthday yesterday, she was 14, and this is the card that I made for her. She's very fashion conscious so I think this card will have suited her down to the ground. I've got so much mileage from this cart , it's ridiculous! I used g.c.d Eye Candy papers and a slightly different type of card base. I used a standard A5 card but chopped off about 3" from the front leaving a narrow strip which I edged with an MS punch. I covered the inside back of the card with the 'eye candy' script paper and the front with a narrow panel of psychedelic paper topped with another patterned panel which was attached with foam tape. I added a '14' cut from purple glittercard and a model dressed in pink and purple with the addition of a belt made from peel-offs and jewellery made from small gems. 'Lauren' was cut from purple glittercard and adhered with foam pads. I added 3 small Primas with gem centres. I also added gems to the holes in the punched border. Happy Birthday cut from more purple glittercard finishes the card.

Alice......

No 2 son went to a friend's party last Saturday and this is the card that I made for her. I've used this layout before, and being pushed for time, I went with a tried & trusted formula. I used K & Co papers on a diagonal-cut front card which was embellished with an MS punch. I added a punched ribbon trimmed border and a large flower which was partly obscured by the border. I cut the model from black card and dressed her in a turquoise print jumpsuit. I added a belt, and jewellery made from fine silver cord. I also added some shoes cut from scraps. 'Alice' was cut from pink pearlised card as was the no. 17. The number was mounted onto a scalloped circle and 'Happy Birthday' cut from the same pearlised card was adhered in the centre of the inside of the card.

Cameo Shadow Box....

Here's another shadow box idea for you. This time I used an elegant cameo which would make a great gift for your mum, a favourite aunt, sister or best friend. The box was made in exactly the same way as the previous two that I've posted. I used Papermania Rose Garden paper and positioned the frame cut so that I could get that rose in the bottom left hand corner. I cut a scalloped oval topped by an embossed plain oval to hold the cameo, which was cut from pink glitter card. This was adhered with 3 layers of foam pads. The oval was finished with some roses & leaves and a sheer swirl printed bow topped by a heart button with the shank removed.

My sweetie pie......

Some more freebie papers today, again from Creative Cardmaking (so not strictly speaking free, but you know what I mean!) I used fruity papers for this one, namely cherries, and complemented them with gingham and washed pink paper. The front of the card was covered with pink washed paper and a gingham panel, matted onto a punched white mat was adhered over the top. Cherry print paper was added to another MS punched mat, wrapped with red polka dot ribbon and adhered with foam tape over the gingham panel. A cherry pie was cut from silver mirri (for the pie tin) and tan & red bazill for the pie crust and filling. I shaded the pie crust with brown marker and a blending pen to add dimension and then glittered the pie filling.Yummy! The pie was adhered with foam pads to a scalloped circle and 'sweetie pie, cut from green and red bazzill, was adhered below it. I glittered the sentiment and the cherry after it was adhered to the card. The front of the card was finished with red & green card candy. I added 'my' with tiny rub-ons above the sentiment. The inside was decorated with another piece of cherry print paper decorated with a MS punch and a sentiment panel- I used a corner punch on the panel which I dug out of a box, and haven't used in yonks if ever!
