Dapper Dan.....

It was my nephew Dan's birthday last week and I made him this card. I love this image and thought that he'd look cool sitting on something and what better than a name! The papers are from a past issue of Creative Cardmaking and the layout is the simplest possible. The figure was cut from dark burgundy cardstock backed with white. The name was cut from patterned paper shadowed with burgundy cardstock. The name was adhered to the card with foam pads, then the sitting figure was adhered above it. 'Happy Birthday' was cut from black cardstock and adhered flat. A smattering of Card Candi completes the card.

Jasmine for Amy.....

The youngest of the GirliezNextDoor was eight at the beginning of the month, and this is the card that I made for her. All little girls love Disney Princesses don't they? Well if they don't, they should!!!
I decided on Jasmine as I've already sent Snow White and Ariel to Amy, and Jasmine seems a little more grown up (don't know why!) I have to tell you that this photo doesn't show up the true colours of the card. Jasmine's outfit is actually a beautiful eau de nil colour not that sludgy grey! I cut Jasmine's clothes from pearlescent cardstock and the rest of her from textured cardstock. She was mounted onto a lovely eastern-style window which was cut from Centura pearl white cardstock. The papers are Dovecraft. 'AMY' was cut from pink pearlised textured cardstock and adhered inside the window with foam pads. 'Happy Birthday' was cut from the same cardstock shadowed with white, then adhered with foam pads to the top of the card.

Jasmine/Window- Disney Dreams Come True
AMY- StoryBook
Happy Birthday- ZooBalloo

Anniversary wishes.......

It was my brother and S-I-Law's wedding anniversary at the beginning of October and this is the card that I made for them. The card base is a C5 and I used another image from Papermania's Strictly Party A4 pack. I used two identical images, cutting one of them to use as decoupage, then layered them up with foam pads. The completed piece was adhered to a piece of black cardstock with a punched edge. It was adhered to the right hand side of the card with foam pads. I added a couple of corners and a sentiment cut from black cardstock. A bow and a couple of pearls completes the card.

Decorative corners- Sophisticated
Happy Anniversary- Sweethearts

Beautiful bags........

Our niece Tara, and friends' daughter Rhea both had birthdays last week. They are both very trendy, so I thought that a handbag card would go down well with both of them and there's nothing like killing two birds with one stone is there? When you can cut two handbags, why not cut four?! I love this bag cut, and it can be as dressed-up or plain as you like. For these bags I chose red (yes, it IS red!) snakeskin-style paper, and zebra stripe cardstock. The bags were cut twice from white card, then once from my chosen papers. The white cardstock bag cuts were adhered together along the top, then the patterned paper bag was adhered to the card base. Both bags were trimmed with a strip of paper fringed with shredder scissors, then studded witrh brads. The bag tops were cut from black mirri card, and holes were punched with a Cropodile to thread black cord through to create the handle. I coloured plain pearls with a black ProMarker for the clasps, then adhered them to the bag with PVA glue. I used a Marianne die to create a couple of flowers which were adhered to the fringing with silicone glue. To finish the bags, I created two 'bag charms' using head pins and alphabet beads and fixed them to the bag handle with jump rings.
I covered the inside of the cards with contrast paper, created a pocket to hold a sentiment card and cut Happy Birthday from black cardstock which was adhered to the pocket.

Happy Birthday Louis........

One of the little BoyzNextDoor had a birthday at the end of September and this is the card that I made for him. I was pushed for time so needed something quick. I decided to make a concertina square card and just add the letters of his name. I started with four 6" square cards, then joined them together in a row, using strong adhesive, giving me five panels inside and a front. I added a square of blue card to each panel then topped the panels with different patterned papers from a 6" pad that was a freebie from a magazine. The front of the card holds a 'Happy Birthday' cut from dark blue glittercard.....

and the inside panels hold the letters of Louis' name cut from different colours of glittercard, adhered flat. I had some yonks old MAMBI party stickers in my stash, and used them to decorate each page and the front of the card.

Happy Birthday- ZooBalloo

Wendy......

This was another commission card that I made for Debbie for her S-I-L's 60th birthday. As usual it is an A4 card made with a Papermania 'Lucy Cromwell' 12x12 Designstax. The layout is simple with a central panel holding a huge fan. The fan was cut twice, once from patterned paper and again from silver mirri. The 'struts' were cut from the paper fan, then adhered to the silver mirri fan with foam tape. The handle of the fan was decorated with a Prima bloom, WOC cherry blossoms, pearl strands and a sheer bow. It was adhered to the centre panel with foam tape. '60' and 'Wendy' were cut from pink glittercard shadowed with silver mirri. A trio of Paper Cellar irridescent blooms with pearl centres completes the card.

ANOTHER wedding card!!!!!!......

Crikey!!!! I've made a few wedding cards in the past couple of months, Dan and Sarah's, Rohit and Izzy's and two for weddings taking place in India. This is one of the cards that went to India. I used an 8" square card base and the same papers that I used for Rohit and Izzy's. The shaped apertured panel was cut from white pearlised card and then embossed. It was mounted onto a silver mirri shadow and adhered to the centre of the card. Each of the doves was cut twice from white pearlised card, and the wings were cut from one of the doves and adhered to a complete dove with foam pads to add dimension. I repeated the process for the second dove. Both doves were then adhered with foam pads inside the aperture. A punched heart was adhered above the doves' heads. A sheer ribbon bow, white bloom, pearl strands, punched silver leaves and heart shaped pearls completes the card.

On a different subject, have you seen the new Theresa Collins 'December 25th' Christmas cartridge? It's absolutely gorgeous! It's on pre-order NOW at www.craftsulove.co.uk and will be in stock in the second week of October and it's only £29.99!!! I've ordered one and will be using it in workshops for Christmas (which start tomorrow) and also the Swarms up 'til Christmas, so if any of you out there who will be attending either workshops or Swarms I would recommend that you have a dekko of the C-u-L website and order it if you can. You won't regret it!
