Aunt.....
Here's another 3 panel card for another member of the family..this time, Aunt. I used Papermania Rose Garden papers, glittercard for the icons and a beautiful minty green blown rose from Prima. I used a MS punch for the bottom of the long panel & wrapped some green ribbon around the bottom of it. I used scalloped mats as on yesterday's card and adhered the icons with foam pads so that they overlapped the centre square a little. I decorated the inside with a scalloped rectangle, a die-cut & border 'ribbon' from the Papermania pack.

Oh Baby!....
Here's a couple of cards made in exactly the same way as yesterday's. I used traditional baby colours but you could use any combination of colours really. I substituted the straight edged squares for scalloped and used the centre square for a glitter card sentiment. The cute feet & nappy pins are cut from glittercard. The inside of the card is really simple, just another scalloped square, a punched border and glitter card hearts.

Trains & boats & 'planes......
I've a very masculine card for you today. I've used this layout a lot and you will see evidence of that over the coming days...here we go again I hear you yell! I used paper from a GORGEOUS paper stack by DCWV called The Natural Stack(The Range £19.99), and it's crammed with scrumptious browns & coppers. I covered the front of the card with a mixed pattern paper and cut three 2 1/2"squares from different papers, matted onto gold mirri. I added a long panel to the left of the card and then arranged the three panels, overlapping, leaving a place for a sentiment. I cut the 3 icons from gold mirri and adhered them to the squares with foam pads. I added gold pearls to the squares and 2 brown buttons sewn onto gold mirri punched circles. The inside was decorated simply with the addition of scrolled gold mirri corners.

Sister......
This card is so simple but very pretty (blowing my own trumpet here!) I used paper from DCWV Nana's Kitchen (I just LOVE that pink tartan paper) and a scrap of Bo Bunny polka dot paper for the scalloped oval frame. The frame was cut in the polka dot paper and a shadow cut from white card. I adhered the two together with foam pads and adhered a pice of yellow dotted paper behind it to hold the cameo which was cut from pink glittercard. I used a MS punch and some Smirk ribbon for the border. The white portion under the border was embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I cut 'Sister' from pink glitter card and adhered it with foam pads to the white portion. The frame was decorated with a gorgeous Prima flower and some extra layered flowers and a few pearls. The completed frame was then adhered to the card front with foam pads. I decorated the inside of the card with more tartan paper and a simple scalloped oval mat. I've taken to leaving the inside of the cards blank just lately so that the giver can write their own message.

Happy Birthday Anita!....
I made this card for our Aussie niece Anita who at the moment is working on the paradise isle of Barbados! How lucky is SHE?! She is SHOE MAD!! I've never known a girl with so many shoes! So I thought it only fitting to use shoes on her card. I used papers that came free with a card mag and a square card, which I don't use very often. The layout is very simple just matted & layered squares. I used a MS border punch on the orange spotted border and wrapped it with hot pink satin ribbon. I cut the shoes from crodile-skin textured paper and black C/S and added a punched flower with gem centre. I cut her name from aqua glitter card and adhered it with foam pads. A layered flower and gem swirls complete the front of the card. A simple sentiment square was added to the inside of the card.

Love you a LATTE!......
As I was making this card I wasn't at all sure that it was working or that I liked it. I LOVE the paper but the layout wasn't doing anything for me...but I persevered and in the end I was pleased with the result. I used paper from DCWV Nana's Kitchen..it's got lots of coffee cups on it, with a contrast blue gingham paper. I cut the coffee pot from green polka dot paper and silver mirri and added it to a pink tartan panel with a small strip of the coffee cup paper adhered to the bottom. I cut the 'Love you a latte' oval from pink glitter card matted onto a white oval and hand shadowed scalloped oval. I used a MS punch for the border and some lovely 'Smirk' ribbon for the bow. I added 3 pink flowers to balance the coffee pot panel, and decorated the inside with more gingham paper, white sentiment panel and a 'sticker' cut from pink glittercard.

Ladybird Luv .........
Aren't these the cutest little people you've ever seen?!!! When I saw them I knew just what I wanted to do with them. I decided to use only one colour for this card and it had to be red didn't it?! The spotty paper is the reverse side of some Christmas paper that I had left over and then I just used white cardstock which I embossed and a MS punch to decorate each end of the panel. I used some spotty ribbon (no flowers this time!) on the bottom of the panel beneath the sentiment. I cut the ladybird lovers from red glittercard and mounted them with foam pads onto a shaped panel shadowed with red mirri card. The sentiment was cut from the same spotty paper and adhered with foam pads. I added some tiny punched hearts between the lovers and then decorated the inside of the card with more spotty paper, a heart shaped panel and more punched hearts.

Bloom where you are planted....
On the 'Just Because Cards' cart there are a choice of styles for the phrases that go with each icon..there is just the phrase itself (as on the Get Whale Soon card) or the phrase cut into an oval as on this card. I chose to make the phrase oval the focus here. I cut the oval twice..once in yellow paper and it's shadow in dark teal paper. I hand shadowed it with a scalloped oval cut with scissors. I used a simple layout using DCWV paper from the Cafe Mediterranean stack from The Range (£19.99) I added the extra wording with rub-ons. Layered flowers, pearl swirls, ribbon and some extra pearls complete the front. The inside was decorated with more paper from the stack and a simple blank scalloped oval.

You are my sunshine!.....
Here's a sunny card to go with the fab weather we've been having lately! I used paper from the DCWV Citrus stack and a cute smiley face cut from a sheet of gift wrap and mounted onto card to give it stability. Gift wrap is a fantastic scource for crafters, especially decoupagers. I used a simple layout using 3 patterns of paper. The longest piece was edged with a MS punch, the smaller panel added to it and ribbon wrapped around both. The panel was adhered to the card front with foam tape. I added a flower and sun rays behind the smiley face cut from yellow glittercard. I cut the sentiment from four different colours of glittercard and adhered the pieces with foam pads. The smiley face was also adhered with foam pads and the card front finished with some pearls coloured with permanent markers to match the card. I just cut a simple white panel, matted and layered for the inside of the card and left it blank.

Little Boy Blue......
This card had 2 incarnations..the first took apart as it wasn't 'working' and this is what I ended up with. I love this chocolate & blue colourway and I think that this card could be used as a birthday or new baby card. I used the Bug to cut an aperture in the card front using Centrepoint and then covered the front of the card with polka dot paper, cutting away the paper over the aperture. I then cut a scalloped ring from brown c/stock and adhered it with foam pads over the aperture. I added a scalloped strip with ribbon trim to the bottom of the card and I added the Boy Blue icon cut from blue glittercard. The front of the card was finished with a layered flower and some blue pearls. I covered the inside of the card with more patterned paper and a border and added the Boy Blue sentiment cut from glittercard.

Special Delivery.....
Here's another card that I made for the Swarm..this time a very simple baby card. It could also be a birth announcement. I cut a doiley card and a circle for the font which was shadowed in blue. I cut a strip for the border, edged & embossed it and added ribbon, a bow & layered flower. I added some Dovecraft paper to the bottom of the circle and then adhered the finished circle to the front of the card with foam pads. The border was adhered in the same way. I cut a stork from blue glittercard and adhered it over the border, again with foam pads. I cut the 'Special Delivery' and it's shadow from white & blue glittercard and adhered it to the space beneath the border. I added some small blue pearls around the edge of the card and covered the inside of the card with plain blue paper.

Mary, Mary.....
This is another card that I made for the Swarm a couple of weeks ago. I used (again!) a diagonal cut card with Papermania Honey & Hugs papers. I cut a scalloped oval with a plain shadowed oval to hold a very pretty silhouette of Mary watering her flowers. She was cut from ice-blue glittercard and shadowed onto pink. I added spotted ribbon, layered & single flowers, Mary, Mary, cut and shadowed from glittercard & pearls to finish.

Happy Birthday Sophie!.......
Sorry I'm late posting today (it's 7:10pm) but it's been GLORIOUS here today!!! I've been in the garden all afternoon- mowing the lawns, cleaning the deck & the patio etc, etc. We ate lunch outside today (and breakfast too!) WOW! and it's still only April. Anyway- on to the card. The eldest of the 3 little girls on the other side of us (3 girlies one side, 2 boys in the middle-ours- and 3 little boys on the other side) is 11 today and this is the card that I made for her. Again it's a diagonal cut front and I used one sheet of double sided paper and a scrap of pink Bo-Bunny polka dot c/stock for the scalloped medallion, I used a Ms punch for the front & border and added a really cute handbag cut from the same papers with the addition of some white glittercard for the handle. I added a medallion carrying the number 11, 'Sophie' & 'Happy Birthday' cut from pink glittercard and a little bow & ribbon rose to the bag handle. After I took the photo I added 3 large pearls to the right of the bag above the border.

Out of this world birthday!......
Aneurin, the eldest of 3 little boys next door, is 8 today and this is the card that I made for him. I used a diagonal cut card again and some fabbo spaceboy paper -I know not from where it came! I also used (for the moon & border) some seriously sparkly wrapping paper from Clinton Cards. I cut the rocket from 2 diffrent types of silver cardstock and some cobalt blue glittercard. I added Nye's name &' happy birthday' cut from glittercard and ' blast off!' cut from holographic card. I punched some circles from the sparkly wrap along with some stars to create a night sky. The moon was made from a circle of the wrap with different sized holes punched from it. The circle was backed with another circle, the reverse of the wrap showing through the punched holes. A smattering of punched stars on the front of the cards were the finishing touch.

Get WHALE soon!......
When I host a Swarm I always make cards with any new carts that I have so that my ladies can try them out then decide whether they want to buy them or not. This is one that I made for last weekends Swarm. I have to say that I really like this cart but it is difficult to negotiate if you don't want to make the card from scratch because the sizing is complicated. Although this little whale is only about 3" long he was actually cut at 7"! I tried using Real Dial Size but it doesn't work where layers are involved as they are all cut at RDS and some layers end up HUGE!!! So I did lots of trial cuts before I got the correct size. It's always handy to scribble the size down in the handbook so that next time you use the cut you've got a starting point! Anyway, back to the card. I used a C5 card, adding a matted white panel to the front. I cut a scalloped circle from blue card and a smaller plain circle from white card. I embossed the circle and the punched straight border with a Fiskars Wave texture plate. I cut the little whale from 2 shades of blue cardstock and added a googly eye (these really bring your characters to life!) I glittered the little water spout coming from his head..isn't it cute?! I added ribbon, 3 acrylic pebbles and the 'Get Whale Soon' sentiment which was raised on foam pads.
I'm entering this card in the Cricut Cardz Challenge which is to create a Get Well Soon card with any cart.

Happy 16th birthday....
Our nephew Skanda is 16 on Saturday and this is the card that I made for him...it is presently winging it's way to Sydney in the care of my SIL (his aunt) who has been here on holiday. Happy Birthday for Saturday Skanda! I cut an aperture in a white card using the centre point feature on the Expression, and then covered the front of the card with the musical instrument print paper. I cut away the paper covering the aperture with a craft knife. I cut a cog-wheel from silver holographic card and adhered it around the aperture, I cut a smaller cogwheel for the inside of the card which was covered with camouflage paper, and a circle was added to the centre of the cog-wheel along with a '16' cut from a star patterned holographic card. The circle and 16 were adhered with foam pads. I cut 'Happy Birthday' , 'Skanda' & 'You Rock' from copper coloured holographic card and adhered these to the front of the card with foam pads except for the 'You Rock' which was adhered flat inside the card.. I added punched stars for a finishing touch along with candy dots around the cog-wheel.

Precious baby Jemima.....
I was commissioned to make this card by the mother of a premature baby, who wanted a special card to give to her husband. The brief was pink, with the exact wording that I put on the card, a blank area to write her own special message and above all the card needed to be special, something that couldn't be bought in the shops. Apparently the client had scoured all the card shops and couldn't find anything suitable. I believe that she was 'chuffed' with the end result!
I used a crossover card,a heart MS punch and papers from Jendenink Craftworks in Stubbington. I cut the pram from silver mirri and white Bazzill cardstock and added pearl details. I cut 'JEMIMA' from pink glittercard and adhered the letters with foam pads. I cut the letters & flourish from white cardstock and adhered them flat. I added 3 punched hearts. I covered the back of the card with cloud-effect pink paper (in a pack of 4 colours from The Works) and added a white panel trimmed with an MS punch.

Vintage Husband....
Here is a complimentary card to the vintage wife card of Friday..naturally a husband card! I made it in the same way as the wife card but kept the edges plain. I also made it fold the other way. I used papers from Papermania's Persimmon range. These new paper ranges from Papermania come with tags, frames & letters (no letters in Persimmon though) and I used a border from the pack beneath the cameo. I used gold mirri card to cut all the accents for this card. I added candy dots as an added embellishment.

Double diagonal Baby......
Here's another version of the diagonal cut card that I've been featuring lately, this time using 2 cards. I just cut each card on opposite diagonals then adhered them together at the back. Effectively you have a cross-over card. Then I just decorated as usual. The papers are by Provocraft. I used the same pram as yesterday made in the same way this time with yellow pearls. I added a layered flower, ribbon & punched glittercard daisies with pearl centres.
I cut 'New Arrival' & 'Congratulations' from yellow glittercard and adhered them to the left flap and the inside back of the card.

Vintage Baby....
There are several prams to choose from in the Cricut library but this one HAS to be the best. It's absolutely gorgeous. I used another diagonal cut card for the base, and used Provocraft papers for the back & front. I cut the pram from silver mirri and twice from white textured cardstock. I cut the hood from one pram and adhered to the other one with foam pads. I added detail with a dressmaker's wheel then adhered it to the silver base pram. I added some pearls as embellishment to the hood and the side of the pram. This was then adhered to the front of the card, over the punched border with foam pads. I added a layered flower and 'Baby' cut from silver mirri to the top right hand corner of the card.

BBQ King!.......
Sorry folks! Here's another diagonal cut card (there are a few more to come..please bear with me!!) but this time it's one for the guys. With BBQ season coming up I thought that there would be a few guys that this card would suit. They don't set foot in the kitchen all year, yet come summer, a decent day, some friends and they'd have you think that Raymond Blanc was a bosom buddy!
Anyway, back to the card.. I used the Nana's Kitchen stack again for this card . I cut the letters from 3 different colours & patterns of paper and backed them with card to make them more substantial, then arranged them over the front of the card, and the border with foam pads. I cut out a crown and 'king !' from gold mirri, the crown was adhered to the 'B' and the 'king!' was adhered over the border. I added 'to the' using black letter stickers and a 'top chef' plaque cut from another sheet of paper from the stack. I cut 'Happy Birthday' from gold mirri & adhered it to the top right of the card with foam pads. There is another plaque on the inside of the card that says 'Tuck in!' but I've not shown it.

I cut the '16' from pink check paper and shadowed it with the same green paper that is on the inside of the card. The numbers were adhered to the card with foam pads. I added a layered flower and ribbon to the border. I cut 'sweet' and it's shadow from glittercard and punched 3 daisies and adhered them with silicone glue. 'Sweet' was adhered with foam pads. I added gems to the centre of the daisies and to the numbers.

Go, go, go Dad!......
How come that you have all the time in the world to make cards for no-one in particular, but when it comes to family it's pullyourfingeroutfastgal.com!? I always do it..and then it's a mad rush to make something half-way decent, but saying that I don't think that this card turned out too bad! I made this for the kids to give their Dad for his birthday last week. I had a heck of a job matching up papers but I think I got away with it!. I cut the card front on a diagonal and covered with acid green check paper. I used paper from a DCWV Kids stack for the inside. I cut a set of flags from black & white card, a set of traffic lights to which I added different coloured shimmer paper and the word 'GO!' on the green light, and some checked letters for the 'DAD' sentiment. For the inside I cut a 'GO' sign from silver & black mirri and ahered it to the top right of the card with foam pads. I added a strip of the checked paper and using black letter stickers (shock!horror!!!) added the inside sentiment.

80th Birthday wishes.....
This card was a commission that I did for a lady who couldn't find a card that she liked for her Mum's 80th Birthday. She gave me carte blanche really with this one so I went for a slightly vintagy feel. I used papermania papers from a couple of different packs and a different take on yesterday's card using two cards adhered together and cut on the diagonals. I used a MS punch for the front and the border strip then added lovely rose-print ribbon a layered Prima flower and some goldy coloured pearls as decoration. I cut '80' & 'MUM' from copper coloured mirri which I then ran through the cuttlebug (always emboss AFTER cutting) and mounted the '80' onto a scalloped oval. I added 'Birthday wishes' on the first flap and 'With Love' on the back panel. I hope she likes it!
