Well, we are almost at the end of the 'noughties' and entering a new decade... lets hope it's a VAST improvement on the last one...well the last year at least! I don't know about you but I was soooo glad to put away the Christmas stuff...I'm fed up with wintery themes and so I've jumped forward a couple of months to Valentine's day (or any other romantic occasion that you can think of) I've used some scrumptious paper from MME called Be Loved. As you can see this is an easel card, and I used 3 different papers (these are double-sided by the way). I've made a large stop for this card because I wanted it to hold the 'forever' sentiment. I embossed a piece of pink card with a heart & vine embossing folder which is remarkably like the heart paper! I added a polka dot bow and a couple cut from bronze mirri card. I cut the sentiments from the same card and shadowed them with pink card. A flower, some leaves and punched hearts complete the card.

Boxing Day Birthday Girl!
Pia is the eldest daughter of some very good friends of ours... she's 3 months younger than our No.1 son.. and was 19 on Boxing Day! I have a lot of free papers from mags especially Creative Cardmaking, from which this FAB image and papers came. I use the papers, usually, but not so the images, but I thought this one would be ideal for Pia as it's not too overtly Christmassy...just wintery! I made the card in an easel format and used 2 different paper designs. I adhered the image to thin card then cut it out. It was then mounted onto pink & gold card and adhered to the top portion of the card over a strip of ribbon. I cut a square of patterned paper for the 'stop' and adhered a handbag using foam pads. I cut PIA & Happy Birthday from hot pink glitter card and shadowed each with gold mirri card (the happy birthday shadow was hand cut as the sentiment was already cut in shadow mode) I finished the card with a bow and layered flower and added some glamour dust to the fur trim on the image.

I've a little bauble card for you today. I used papers from DCWV and a Cuttlebugged panel of dark pink cardstock. I cut the bauble from black sparkle card and backed it with pink mirri card. I added some rather glorious ribbon, a layered sheer poinsetta from Prima, and some silver leaves. Very simple but effective!

For Mum at Christmastime...
This is the card that I made for my Mum for Christmas. I used the same image as that on a previous post, treated exactly the same way with Glamour Dust. The holly background paper was free with Creative Cardmaking a couple of months ago. I mounted the picture onto a scalloped panel and added gold ribbon & a poinsetta to the front of the card. I cut a smaller scalloped panel and added a sentiment to a piece of white textured card with peel offs and a Cricut generated sentiment. To finish the front of the card I addded red Stickles to the berries in the child's hair and some red gems to the ribbon. I have to add that the little girl is the spitting image of my great-niece Chelsea! Hope you are all ready for the great day....only 3 more days to go!!!!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Warm Winter Wishes..
Hope you are all well...I've got a flippin' cold but heyho! I made this card ages ago but left the white panel blank until I got the Winter Woodland cart because I knew that there would be something on it that would look great in the space.... so here it is!
I used DCWV (I think!) papers which were matted onto pink card and I embossed the white panel with a Fiskars Texture Plate. I added a large blue & white poinsetta with a pink paper rose in the centre. I cut the sentiment from blue glitter card and then added gems in a swirly pattern.. you can buy these swirls (and very lovely they are too!) from Prima, but with a pot of pva, some precision tweezers,
Papermania rhinestone wheel, good eyesight(???!!) and a steady hand you can produce your own for a fraction of the cost.

Mass production!
First off...sorry about the photo! I wanted some cards that I could send to the neighbours or keep in reserve for those forgotten few! So I came up with these. They consist of an embossed panel (Cuttlebug Christmas countdown- 7x5") coloured cardstock for a mat, scrap of patterned paper, ribbon, a poinsetta and a sentiment cut from glitter card/paper. These were so quick to put together, and I added a sentiment inside that was computer generated onto Safmat.
I'll be making more like this next year I think!

60th Birthday
We went to a birthday party on Saturaday evening. Our hostess Vicky will be sixty just before Christmas and I made this card for her from hubby & myself, my boss Jennie and her family and some other good friends and customers from the shop (Vicky is also a customer and friend) therefore this card is BIG! It's A4 in size and is big enough for mass signing.
I used Clare Curd papers in black & red (the colour theme for her party) and some glitter card for the '60' I cut out a scalloped frame & matted & layered patterned paper onto it. I added a bow, horizontal panel edged with a Martha Stewart punch and some black & red flowers.

A birthday train for Bryn..
It was our next door neighbour's youngest son's birthday on Tuesday and this is the card that I made for him. I used papers from the DCWV Kids stack. I matted and layered striped and patterned papers with blue card. Then I embossed a piece of the blue card with an embossing folder. I added a strip of the striped paper to the bottom of the embossed piece and added four candy dots which I glittered. I cut the train from black and coloured cardstock and pieced it together using a different colour for each truck. I cut some strips of card with scalloped scissors and added a piece to the top of each truck. The wheels were enhanced with brads and a number 3 added to the train engine. I hand cut the smoke clouds from glittercard and cut each letter of the name from a different coloured glitter card. The trucks of the train were joined with a piece of fine silver cord adhered to the back and the whole train was adhered to the blue panel with foam pads, as were the letters. The inside of the card was decorated with a strip of the patterned paper and 'Happy Birthday' cut from blue cardstock.

O Holy Night
Sorry folks!Another easel card for you. I did warn you! As you can see I used just 2 colours of cardstock-red card & gold mirri. I cut the nativity scene from gold card and a shadow in red which I embossed with a starts embossing folder. I matted & layered red & gold cardstock, added some red shimmery ribbon, peel-offs(!!!!!) a punched border & gold stars. I cut the stop & mounted the 'O' onto it then adhered the 'Holy Night' below it above the gold border. One of the ladies at the Swarm made one of these and it was beautiful.

First Swarm project.
We held our first Swarm last Saturday and it was a great success..thanks to all the ladies who came and extra special thanks to Jennie (The Boss!) who stayed and helped. We will definately be doing it again! This is the project that each of the ladies were given to either make at the Swarm or take home. It's a little wall hanging (although one lady decided to put hers on the front of a card (nice one Angie!) I'm all for people taking an idea and running with it...if it turns out very different to the original..great!!! I used just 2 carts for this one. I cut the larger shape in white card and gold card which were adhered together (the white card adds stability) then cut the same shape 1/2" smaller in patterned paper and adhered it to the gold card. The sleigh was cut from gold then red card (the runners were cut from the red portion), and the decorative swirl was the shift section of the sleigh. They were adhered together then a gold bow & poinsetta added. The 'Season's Greetings' was cut from red card with a gold shadow then adhered above the sleigh. Two holes were punched in the top of the shape with a Cropodile then gold cord was threaded through from the front & knotted at the back. For any of the ladies who for one reason or another couldn't attend the Swarm there are some packs still available at Jendenink to buy.

I matted & layered onto pale pink/mid pink Bazzill. I used pink glitter card for the frame, high chair image, name, number & 'today'. I added pink satin ribbon, a white paper rose & daisies punched from white glitter card and enhanced with a gem. The white panel behind the image & the mount for the '1' were Cuttlebugged.

From The Heart....
The papers used on this card are new ones from Papermania. The colours are lovely (pink, chocolate, duck egg blue, aubergine) and the paper has a linen texture to it. The paper I used has birdcages on it, and I teamed it with chocolate polka dots. The contrasting cardstock is Gemstones which I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I cut out the scalloped border using the 'Fit To Length' feature and the frame was cut from the same cardstock & shadowed with polka dot paper. I cut out the leaves from Gemstones. I added brown satin ribbon, flowers & pearls and the sentiments cut from polka dot paper & shadowed with the Gemstones cardstock.

Three ladies dancing....
This is a card that I made as a commission for a very sweet lady who comes to us for her special cards. This one is for her daughter who has just opened a ballet school in Germany where she lives. I used ballet themed paper (K & Co I think)
for the front of the card, and I made a mirror from (funnily enough!) Mirri card. I added a barre with brads and three dancers wearing pink glitter-enhanced tutus. I gave each dancer a different colour of hair and they all have pearl earrings. I added the requested sentiments on scalloped ovals. I finished the card off with voile bows and a pair of ballet shoes cut from more of the ballet themed pad (added after the photo was taken). A verse was put inside which was composed by the customer herself (not shown for obvious reasons!)

Happy 70th, Mum!
It was my lovely Mum's 70th birthday yesterday (her first without my Dad) and we threw her a surprise party on Saturday. Emotions were running high, as you can imagine, but she came through and thoroughly enjoyed it, as did we all. I must thank my bro Nick, my lovely SIL Lisa & my niece Lauren for arranging it all!! Well done guys!!! This is the card that I made for her (sorry the lighting is a bit off!...and I took the photo in a hurry!) This is my first attempt at an easel card. How easy are they to make?!! I shall certainly be making some more! Sorry peeps...another obsession coming on!! I used Basic Grey paper to cover the front of the card and a piece of the same paper to trim the bottom of the base part of the card. I used two colours of Bazzill cardstock for matting & layering. I added satin ribbon to the front of the card along with '70' cut from a contrast paper and shadowed with pink Bazzill. The numbers were decorated with layered flowers & pearls, then glittered. As a stop I cut a scalloped circle which was also a base for the 'with love...' sentiment. I cut 'Mum' from pink Bazzill and shadowed it with green. As a finishing touch I used the waste flowers from the punched piece to decorate the green Bazzill panel.

Love you....
I saw a card made with this cut whilst blog hopping a while back and really liked it so I thought that I'd give it a go! I cut three of the wreath shapes..1 in blackout (with FLIP function enabled)..1 in white textured card.. 1 in pearlised card. I cut away the bottom half of the pearlised card and passed the remainder through the Cuttlebug. This was adhered to the white textured portion. The 'hole' in the card front was covered with lovely pearlised & printed handmade paper (it has a fabric look & feel to it) from The Works. I decorated the top portion of the card with blue flowers, leaves, ribbon & gems. I added gems to the 'ring' portion and added a 'Love You' sentiment cut from blue glitter paper with a pearlised paper shadow. I added 'forever & ever' to the inside.

Isn't this image just gorgeous! I downloaded it from Google images (just typed in vintage christmas images) then I blinged it up with a Xyron machine, some Glamour Dust (just LOVE that stuff!) & some red Stickles on the berries on her headress. I used a gatefold card, and papers from Papermania matted onto gold card. I matted the image onto red card and then added it to a scalloped frame trimmed with gold ribbon on the diagonal and a small poinsetta. Gold ribbon and red gems were added to the panels on the front of the card and a shaped panel and sentiment added to the inside.

The curtains are spotted, glittered vellum from Papermania. The card stock is Gemstones again, the white portion was embossed with the Cuttlebug Rose embossing folder. I added sheer pink ribbon, hearts left over from the punched heart border, a paper rose and some leaves. I decorated the inside with a punched heart border & a sentiment.

This card was made for the girlfriend of the recipient of the card on the previous post....sorry again for the quality of the photo! I used a square tent fold card (I don't make many square cards...rarely in fact...but I'm quite liking them...they are very easy to balance) Again I used Gemstone cardstock for the matting and double sided paper (floral one side-pink swirly the other) I used a Fiskard border punch for the edgings, and added my fave 'girl on a scooter' cut from green glitter paper. Happy weekend everyone! First off...sorry about the photos.. they are slightly out of focus...having probs with the camera. This card is for a friend of no.2 son. He's going to the party tonight and needed a card so here it is. I used paper from DCWV Rock Star pack and Papermania Gemstones cardstock. I embossed a piece of blue Gemstones c/s with the music cuttlebug embossing folder and adhered it to the card over the Rockstar paper. I added a guitar which was part embossed with a Fiskars texture plate and gold stars cut from embossed mirri card (stars embossing folder) I added a '17', and some blue pearls to the centre of the stars. Peace on Earth
First off...apologies for the photo- but white & silver are hard to capture! This card looks soooo much better IRL (click on the picture for a better view) The card is tent fold with the bottom 2 corners rounded. I cut a piece of white cardstock to fit the front & then cuttlebugged it. It was then matted onto silver mirri. A piece of mirri edged with a MS punch was adhered to the bottom of the panel and covered with silver ribbon, a bow and paper rose. This was then adhered to the panel. The whole panel was adhered to the card with foam tape. A white embossed circle, matted onto a silver scalloped circle and bearing a white dove was placed over the ribbon. The dove holds a branch in it's beak. I finished the card with the sentiment and stars punched from silver mirri and embellished with clear gems. The inside was decorated with more embossed card, stars and the remaining part of the sentiment.

Santa Claus
Here's a rarity for me... a card with a ready-made embellie on it. I just couldn't find a Santa on ANY cart that would fit in the circle & look right. So I used a lovely Santa from a pack that I got from the Range (can't remember the brand...sorry!) I used papers from DCWV and some wide tartan ribbon. I mounted the santa onto an embossed circle on a scalloped shadow. I cut the 'Santa Claus' wording from red mirri and adhered it under the image. I added a poinsetta to the bow & 'Seasons Greetings' inside the card.

Chill Out!
Firstly, I apologise for my abscence. My sis, BIL, Mum & great niece were here for the weekend (my mum still is!) so I didn't get an opportunity to post. I only made this card last night, it's for my brother Andrew who's birthday it is tomorrow.Talk about living on a knife edge!
This is the 2nd version of the card- the 1st is where it belonged.... IN THE BIN! I downloaded a picture of a chilled cocktail from Google Images ( a fantastic scource of images for cards.. if you haven't got it....Google it!) & printed it onto glossy photo paper. I cut it out, then adhered it with foam pads to a matted circle (the paper is the reverse of the spotty paper) I added 'Chill out' and some great round alphabet stickers (from The Works) to spell 'BROTHER' I finished the card with red candy dots and ' it's your day' inside.

This is a card that I made for a friend of no.2 son. I used some funky freebie papers from Simply Cards & Papercraft (I think!) This card is a tent fold lying on it's side. I rounded the corners then added a piece of the pink & yellow paper. I cuttlebugged a piece of yellow cardstock and applied this to the front. I added a piece of black & white polka dot sheer ribbon with a layered flower. The girl on a scooter (I lurve this icon!) was cut from pink sparkle card from The Range-their kiddies craft section has some great stuff in it! Anniversary Wishes
As promised here is the card that I made for our friends for their 25th Anniversary and as you can see there is hardly any silver on it! I used a gatefold card and vintage style papers and pink cardstock. I cut out a heart and then embellished it with a large velvet brown flower layered up with burgundy & pink smaller flowers. I added burgundy velvet ribbon, some extra roses and leaves, and lastly an embossed silver mirri '25'. 3 pearls finish off the heart. 50th Birthday wishes
We were in Wales at the weekend for the joint birthday/25th Anniversary party of some very good friends of ours. I have known the husband,Imroz, an old medical school colleague of my hubby & his wife Mary (a nurse-like me!) for about 21 years and our kids grew up together for a few years in Saudi. We don't see them very often but when we do we have a great time. This is Mary's birthday card (sorry for the strange position of the card!) I used vintage style papers and toning cardstock. On the smaller card I cut a fretwork on which to mount the '50' which I glittered 'cos I didn't have the right coloured glitter card. I added reversible ribbon, flowers & leaves. I added peach coloured pearls to the numbers and the bottom of the card and a sentiment to the inside.

Jasmine for Millie
One of the little girlies who live next door had her birthday last Sunday so I made a Disney Princess card for her. I chose Jasmine as she is one of the easiest to put together! Some of the Disney characters are so damn fiddly you lose the will to live when it comes to making them up!
I cut Jasmine from Bazzill cardstock and put her together, adding a gem to her headdress. I placed her on an embossed frame also embellished with gems. I used Papermania paper for the card front and some rainbow paper from The Works for the inside. I added a polka dot ribbon bow & flower, a gold perfume bottle with gem trim & a sentiment in gold mirri. The name was cut from aqua glitter card & applied with foam pads.

Happy Birthday David!
It was my nephew David's 21st last week and this is the card that I made for him. He plays the guitar so I went with that as a theme. I used the 'card-in-a-card' format and used black & silver mirri card and some harlequin style card that I've had forever. I cut the guitar from silver card and the harlequin card and layered them up, adding brads for the control knobs and some peel-offs (aaaargggh!) for the fret board. I added the name & some punched stars from the harlequin card to the front of the card & some star embossed silver card and the 'happy birthday' & 'chill out' sentiments to the inside. I managed to add some musical themed ribbon too!

Peace On Earth
Just a bog-standard card today-no fancy folds/cuts or anything! I used paper from Daisy & Dandelion by Design Objectives. This paper is a pretty cranberry colour and I teamed it with some striped paper & holly design paper. I matted the different layers onto pink cardstock and also cut out a white circle with pink scalloped circle beneath it. I added 'peace' cut from pink mirri card, 'on EARTH' using rub-ons and the usual ribbon & flowers. I added 6 candy dots to the front, and a sentiment to the inside.

Here's another Halloween card, this time suitable for a boy. I used the same papers as for the Flying Tonight card a couple of posts ago, but added a tombstone which was cuttlebugged to give it a stone texture then distresses & doodled, a ghost with googly eyes and a rather menacing looking spider! I found this lurvley paper in a box in the garage with all my old Christmas paper in it,there wasn't much left, just enough to put this little number together. I used contrasting polka dot paper from DCWV for the back of the card (it matched pretty well!). I cut a deer tag from green glitter card and matted it onto embossed mirri card. This was adhered with foam pads onto a white panel on the front of the card. I added sheer ribbon & bow, a Prima Poinsetta with glittered rose centre, leaves and a sentiment inside. I blinged up the tag too.

Flying tonight!
I don't DO Halloween especially cards but I loved both this icon & paper so I succumbed! The paper is double sided & I used 2 different sheets of paper. I cut the witch (there are 2 on the cart) from black glittercard & mounted her onto a Cuttlebugged orange circle which in turn was mounted onto a black scalloped circle. I added printed ribbon & a layered flower above it.I adhered a strip of punched paper from the reverse of one of the main sheets, shadowed it with orange cardstock & added some black ric-rac braid to the bottom of the card. I cut a bat from glittercard, added googly eyes & hung it from the bottom of the small card with clear thread. I punched a hole first with a small hole punch. I decorated the inside with more bats & an appropriate sentiment. Whenever I hear this phrase I think of Kenneth Williams in 'Carry On Screaming!' shouting 'frying tonight!' What a hoot!

Skater Girl
This skater icon was soooo pretty that I just had to use it! I cut her from the most gorgeous glitterpaper- it has loads of colours in it but looks silver. When the light catches it it's like Blackpool Illuminations! I cut her from the silver/multi glitter paper & backed her with swirl embossed pink mirri card. I added a silver bow & pink Prima poinsetta with a glittered rosebud centre. I added some bling and silver candy dots. I decorated the inside with some paper strips & punched snowflakes.
