Alternative site....
Just to let you all know that I also post cards on the I Love My Cricut And I Live In The UK Facebook site. It is a closed group so you'll have to send a request to join, but it is a great site for troubleshooting (especially if you have an Explore) and showcases some fab cards and other Cricut generated crafts. I tend to post more on the FB site so if you want to see more of my cards I will be there! I will occasionally post here too.
Liliana....
I was asked to make retirement card for a colleague of my hubby.
so I went with ski-ing as I have made a similar card in the past. The card is A4 in size and I used both pearlised and glitter card with the addition of some snow-glitter and a piece of silver cord for the ski lift cable.

Trio of cards....
October is a busy month for me, cardmaking wise. I have five cards to make this month. Here are the first three...and there is not a bit of Cricut generated stuff on any of them! I needed to make three cards on the same day, so I used one design and changed the centre panel on each card to suit the occasion. The first card was for our niece Tara for her birthday, the second for my brother Nick and SIL Lisa for their anniversary, and the final card for our friends' daughter Rhea for her birthday. The card bases are 7" square and the central panel images are from Papermania's Art Deco, and Time to Party collections.

Anniversary Wishes.......
My nephew Dan and his wife Sarah (she of the previous post!) celebrated their third wedding anniversary on 18th August. I saw a card on Pinterest that I liked and made this card using the heart element. The card is 8" square, papers are from The Promise by First Edition. The hearts were punched from various papers from the pad, and adhered with foam pads over silver thread wrapped around an embossed central square panel. I added gems to the spaces between the hearts.
The corners were die-cut from pearlised cardstock, and the Happy Anniversary was die-cut from glittercard. The number 3 was cut from glittercard and shadowed with white pearlised card. It was adhered to the card with foam pads.

Sarah......
It was my nephew Dan's wife Sarah's birthday last month and this is the card that I made for her. I used an 8" scalloped square card base, and the patterned paper was from a magazine freebie. I rounded the corners of the paper and mat so that it fit neatly into the scalloped corners of the card.
I cut a smaller square of white card, embossed it with a Sue Wilson Art Deco folder, then adhered it to a scalloped square. It was adhered to the centre of the card with foam tape. I cut the chandelier from black Mirri and adhered it to the card with foam pads. I added teeny pink bows and teardrop shaped gems to the bottom of the chandelier. 'Sarah' was cut from black Mirri, decorated with clear gems then adhered with foam pads. To finish I added die-cut corners and happy birthday (another magazine freebie), a bow to the top of the chandelier and a smattering of gems.

Filigree wedding heart
We went to the wedding of the son of one of my hubby's colleagues last month. I made this card in quite an unusual palette for a wedding card. It is oyster, the papers coming from the First Edition 8x8 pad 'The Promise'
The heart was cut from ivory pearlised card and backed with an embossed heart cut from oyster coloured pearlised card. The filagree heart was topped with two smaller hearts, one embossed and the other stamped with the 'Happily Ever After' sentiment. The corners of the card were embellished with die-cut flourishes and the card was finished with a sheer bow and flower and a smattering of pearls.

Something different.....
I've been playing with vinyl! Only this was made with Fablon, much cheaper than Cricut vinyl. I bought a pack of four canvases from The Range for £5. I then painted the canvas with white acrylic paint to 'key' the surface. I then added tan paint with a make-up sponge around the edges for a distressed look.
I then cut out the phrase from black Fablon. I had the blade depth on 2 and the pressure on low ( 3 bars). After weeding out the excess vinyl, I used transfer tape to lift the words from the backing paper and transferred it to the prepared canvas. I used a soft cloth to press the vinyl onto the canvas.
