Lois Pearl.......

I have two cards for you today, both of them for the same little girl.
First up a Christening card. The base card is a scalloped 8". The front of the card was decorated with an embossed square matted onto rainbow mirri and pink cardstock. I adhered a ribbon bow across one corner before adhering the panel to the card front. I then added a stunning cross cut from pearlised cardstock, embossed after cutting, with a filigree cross under it (I cut the swirls from the pink cross)
'Lois Pearl' and 'Christening' were cut from pink pearlised cardstock shadowed with rainbow mirri.
All of the elements were adhered to the card with foam pads. A bow in the centre of the cross completes the card.

The first birthday card uses the same card base with pink polka dot paper. A square, embossed panel matted onto a scalloped square was adhered to the centre of the card. I cut this lovely teddy from gingham paper with polka dot paw pads, muzzle and ears. I gave her teeny black pearl eyes and a bow at her neck. 'Lois Pearl' was cut from pink glittercard and adhered flat. The teddy was adhered to a pink glittercard '1' then adhered to the card with foam pads. A trio of punched hearts completes the card.

Golden Wedding...

Chrissie, one of the ladies who comes to my Wednesday workshops, asked me, last year to make a card for her friends' 50th anniversary. I found the fab 'pointy' doiley when I was looking for something similar to a particular die, and this was close enough.
The card was an 8x8 square, and the papers are Pink Petticoat downloads printed onto pearlised paper. I cut the doiley from gold mirri, topped it with a scalloped circle and plain circle which holds the recipients' names and a '50'.
I added gold mesh ribbon, gold die-cut leaves and flourishes, yellow pearls and a pearl heart and a WOC floral arrangement.

The card was quite bulky, so I made a pizza-style box, decorated with a matted square of PP French script paper, criss-crossed gold ribbon, gold 50 and a couple of punched hearts to finish.
Carts used:
'Pointy' doiley- Graphically Speaking
Dee/Joe-Suburbia

Handy Man.......

I made this card last December for my youngest brother Nick's birthday. Nick works for a company that maintains properties for a housing association, so I thought that this tool belt would make a very apt card. I used papers from Papermania's 'Wellington Bear' pack. The fab tape measure is from a Making Cards For Men special edition from a year or so back.
I cut the tool belt from brown and tan cardstock and added 'real' tool charms to the pockets. 'Nick' was cut from silver mirri and embossed with a 'metal plate' embossing folder then adhered to the card with foam pads. 'Happy birthday' was cut from black mirri and adhered flat to the card.
Three 'screw' brads completes the card.

Holli

My sweet great-niece Holli was 5 last December. I had some Nit-Wit freebie papers from an old Creative Cardmaking mag, and this cute little girl image looks just like Holli, and I thought she would be just right for a birthday card.
I reinforced the image with card before cutting her out then adhered her with foam pads to a patterned paper panel matted onto pink cardstock. 'Holli' & '5' were cut from co-ordinating papers, shadowed with pink cardstock then adhered with foam pads to the card front. Lashings of glitter completes the card.

New Grandparents.....

I was asked to make a card for a couple who had become grandparents for the first time.....

The customer wanted LOADS of wording on the card. Normally I discourage too much 'wordage' on the front of card- I prefer to put the words inside the card- but I had an idea that would work with the sentiment that the customer wanted. I chose a pink and blue palette for the nanny (pink) and granddad (blue) atop a white embossed square. 'Congratulations to the new &' was cut from pink cardstock and adhered flat to the white panel. 'Nanny' & 'Grandad' were cut from pink and blue patterned paper, reinforced with white cardstock, then adhered to the card with foam pads. I punched some stars from pink & blue glittercard, adhering them with foam pads among the sentiment.
Carts used:
Congratulations- Paper Lace 2
Remaining sentiment (in 2 different sizes)- Base Camp

Colin-Paul......

I was commissioned to make a card for a computer lover's 50th Birthday. The card base was an 8" square and the papers used were from a copy of Making Cards For Men (the mouse, laptop & key letters) and Creative Cardmaking (checked background). I embossed a square of beige coloured pearlised cardstock and mounted it onto the centre of the card base. '50' was cut from circuit-board paper stabilised with cardstock, and 'Colin-Paul' was cut from black pearlised cardstock. 'Happy Birthday' was created with 'computer keyboard' letter tiles. All the elements were adhered to the card with foam pads.

Sofia.....

On Monday it was No1 son's girlfriend Sofia's birthday and this is the card that I made for her...

....and again I used my Go-To papers, Let's Party by Papermania. This image is one dimensional, not decoupaged, and I mounted it onto black cardstock.
The card base is a scalloped 8" square, with an aqua & lilac palette. I used black card to cut a lattice panel from the new EDGE TO EDGE cartridge, which was then backed with lilac patterned paper. The panel was adhered to the centre of the card, and the image was then adhered, slightly offset, with foam pads. 'SOFIA' and '23' were cut from purple glittercard shadowed with black, then adhered with foam pads to the card. A sentiment panel from the pack, purple Prima bloom and small roses, pearl pin, sheer ribbon bow and die-cut foliage completes the card.
Carts used:
Black lattice panel- Edge To Edge
'SOFIA' & '23'- Suburbia
