Menai and Krishan........

Rhea's big sister Menai married her lovely fiancĂ© Krishan back in September, and I wanted to make a real keepsake card for them, so I created a book! The all-white palette makes it difficult to photo so please excuse the less than perfect photos!
I created the book with loads of white textured pearlised cardstock and paper and numerous die-cuts and Cricut generated frames. I won't go into too much detail as the pages speak for themselves, but I chose a 'Love quotes from literature' theme, searching the Internet for suitable quotes and came up with some truly lovely quotes.
The picture above shows the cover of the book.....

....first page, details of the wedding.......
..then a quote from my favourite book, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte....

...The Bridge Across Forever by Richard Bach.....
 ...The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks.......
 ...Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte.....
Anne's House Of Dreams by L.M. Montgomery.....
 ....Dr. Zhivago by Boris Pasternak.....
 ..and finally a sentiment....
...and a box to put it in!.....
....and finally, the happy couple themselves!
Phew!!!!!

Art Deco Anniversary.......

My brother and SIL celebrated their 13th Anniversary at the beginning of last month, and this is the card that I made for them. I used the Papermania Art Deco 'Roaring Twenties' toppers and foiled papers. The card base is an 8" square, layered up with black, silver and aqua papers. I embossed an Art Deco frame with an embossing folder, cutting out the centre to create an aperture. I adhered the dancing couple topper behind it with foam tape. I decorated the frame with gems from the same collection, a black marabou feather and greeny, silver bow. NICK & LISA and the number 13 were cut from black mirri card and silver glitter card, then adhered to the card with foam pads.

With Sympathy

Today I have a card for one of those occasions that is always difficult to create for. My boss lost her beloved mum recently and I wanted to pass on my condolences with a card. I used a white and silver colour palette to create this simple but hopefully tasteful card. The card size s A5 and I used textured white card on a silver Mirri mat. I added a window cut from silver Mirri and backed with vellum. I cut a cross from two different silver card stock and adhered it to the window along with a trio of calla lilies, punched greenery and white satin ribbon bow. The sentiment was stamped in silver ink onto a die-cut label and adhered with foam pads below the window. I finished the card with an ivy die-cut in each corner.

Jon & Kitty

My boss' son Jonathan married his sweetheart Kitty back in August. They had a very striking colour scheme of blue & yellow, so I made them an equally striking (IMHO!) card.
The card is 8" square and I used gold card and blue and white pearlised card for matting, the punched edges and for the filigree heart in the centre of the card. The white panel was embossed and a pearl added to the cross-over points in the design. The heart was cut from blue card then adhered to a scalloped heart. A separate heart was cut for the centre and embossed before adhering. I added gold ribbon, a yellow rose and a pair of wedding rings. The heart was finished with gold pearls.'JON' & 'KITTY' was cut from blue card with gold shadow and adhered with foam pads.

Richa & Callum II..........

As promised (albeit a tad later than promised!) here is the card that I took up to Edinburgh for Richa & Callum's wedding back in July
The car is an 8x8 fold back square card. I used Pink Petticoat downloads for the backing papers, printed in Goldenrod onto pearlised paper.
The front of the card holds a square panel, embossed with a Sheena Douglass Indian embossing folder. I added sheer ribbon and a decorative heart cut from white pearlised card shadowed with cream pearlised card. 'Richa' & 'Callum' was cut from champagne coloured glittercard and adhered flat. The front of the card was finished with die cut flourishes and leaves and a couple of sheer flowers. A smattering of pearls and a pearl heart completes the front of the card.....

...... I computer generated a 'Recipe For Love' printed onto pearlised paper, matted it onto cream pearlised card, then adhered to the inside left panel.....
.
....and a mini card, adhered to the back panel, holds a wedding sentiment, and inside is a personal greeting. A ribbon holds the card closed and die-cut flourishes finish the back panel......

....and finally, as usual with my Keepsake cards, a box to keep it safe, decorated with  a pearls decorated heart and champagne glitter letters.

Richa & Callum.....

The middle daughter of our good friends Ashok & Anju, got married in Edingurgh
in July. We flew up there, and had a great weekend in the Scottish capital.
I made this card for our friends Mary & Imroz to give to the newly-weds (I'll show you the card from me next time). The papers were a download printed onto pearlised paper which was matted onto silver mirri, then adhered to an 8" square card. I added a strip with punched edges, horizontally across the centre, then added another strip, embossed and matted onto silver mirri. 'Richa & Callum' was cut from textured silver card, then adhered flat to the embossed strip. I added a lace strip and bow, die-cut leaves and flourishes and a silk bloom to the left hand side of the card. A smattering of pearls completes the card.

Chelsea........

This is a card that I made for my delightful great-niece Chelsea, for her 9th birthday last month. Chelsea takes Karate lessons from her Granddad who is a Sensei at his karate club. She has just earned her orange belt so I thought that I'd pop this cute karate-kid on her card.
The card base is a scalloped 8" square. The papers are freebie Nit-Wits and the Happy Birthday sentiment was cut from a free die (gotta love freebies!) 'Chelsea' & '9' were cut from the same pink glittercard as the sentiment. I finished the card off with a felt flower- yet another freebie. Blimey! this was an expensive card to make-not!

Peppa Pig for Lottie Rose.......

Krishnan's girlfriend Sofia asked me to make a couple of cards for her cousin's little girl Lottie Rose who was one a couple of months ago. Apparently she loves Peppa Pig. Hold the phone! Where was I going to find Peppa Pig on a cartridge? Nowhere! So I went to my trusty go-to when in crafty trouble, Google Images, and downloaded a line drawing of Peppa, which I used to hand-cut a passable version for Lottie's card. I adhered her to a scalloped square, and gave her a speech bubble with a computer generated sentiment. I added some punched flowers to the grass and a (securely fastened!) fabric rose to the speech bubble. A smattering of pink gems completes the card........

....and what little girl doesn't love a dollies pram? This cute little girl was cut from coloured cardstock and then adhered to a scalloped square. The 'Happy Birthday' sentiment was computer generated onto patterned paper and I added the '1st' cut from pink glittercard as was the 'Lottie Rose' I added some punched daisies to the 'grass' and a smattering of gems to complete the card.

Gettin' Hitched!......

I have been making an awful lot of wedding cards just lately, either for commissions or personal use.
I made this one, for no particular reason other than that I liked the image. I think that it would be suitable for either a church wedding, registry office or civil ceremony in a grand house!
I used an 8" scalloped card base and added an embossed and matted panel to the front of the card. Before adhering it to the card I wrapped pink satin ribbon threaded through a gemstone buckle around the bottom of the panel.
The funky couple were cut from plain white card coloured with a Blush Promarker for the skin, then the layers (dress and tux) were cut from white and black pearlised cardstock. The bride's dress was embossed, and I added teeny sequin flowers to her headband. I also gave her a pearl necklace and bracelet. The bouquet was enhanced with punched flowers, created with a Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch. The couple were adhered to the card with foam pads.
'Gettin' Hitched' was cut from black pearlised cardstock and adhered flat. A smattering of pearls completes the card.

Lauren.......

My niece Lauren was 18 last month and she had a Hawaiian themed party, so I thought that this pineapple cocktail would be ideal for her card. I added detail to the pineapple with Promarkers along with lots of glitter. The backing paper was a freebie from Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine from last year. I topped the paper with a panel of white cardstock embossed with a swiss dots folder. I added the sentiment cut from glittercard and to finish a very pretty bloom with a gem in the centre. All of the elements were adhered with foam pads. A smattering of gems completes the card.
No.1 son Krishnan asked me to make a card for him & Sofia to give Lauren, and I decided to use a key (to the door) on this one. I know that you usually give the key to the door at 21 but I've seen plenty of '18' keys in High Street card shops, so why not?
I used Hunky Dory cardstock which was a freebie for the background and added a key cut from silver mirri and 'Lauren' & '18' cut from lilac glittercard shadowed with silver mirri. I added a sheer bow and blooms to the top of the key, along with a stamped sentiment. A smattering of gems completes the card.

I made a pizza-style box to put the card in.

Emily & Reza.........

Hello all! Hope you are enjoying the blistering (yes, truly!) heatwave here. Would you believe that I've had my central heating on today? WHAAAT?!!!!!! Yes, really! My boiler went on the fritz on Saturday so it's been replaced today and they had to test that the radiators were working. It's amazing how much we take hot water on tap for granted until we don't have it!
Anyhoo, back to today's card. I made this card for Mary & Imroz to give to Rhea & Phil's friends Emily & Reza who got married a couple of weeks after Hari & Suzanne.I won't go into details about each pic as the card is made in exactly the same way as in the previous post. I used an ivy die to decorate the corners on the front of the card....
....and also used a die for the flourish behind the heart.....
 ...and inside the card........
....and used the same quote by Audrey Hepburn on the inside.
You really can't see the beautiful lavender colour palette that well in these pics, which is a shame as it's the loveliest colour. And of course, I made a box to put it in (see previous post)

Suzanne & Hari....

When we went to Seattle a couple of years ago, we stayed with some very good friends whom my hubby has known since Medical School days. Their son Hari got married to his fiancée Suzanne last month, and sadly as we were not able to attend as hubby was in India, our friends Mary & Imroz took it out for us.
The card base is an 8" square gatefold made with two 8" square cards adhered together. I embossed snow white Centura Pearl cardstock, matted it onto blue pearlised card and adhered it flat to the front of the card. I cut a shaped panel from patterned paper (downloaded from Pink Petticoat, and printed onto pearlised paper) and adhered to a blue shadow. The panel was then adhered to the front of the card on one side only. A filigree heart was cut from Centura Pearl with a blue blackout. It was adhered to the shaped panel with foam pads. The bride and groom initials, and some die-cut flourishes adorn the front of the card, along with a blue rose and sheer bow....
...here you can see the decorated flap underneath the panel.....

....and also inside the card, along with a smaller card adhered to the inside back of the card, which carries a computer generated sentiment....
....and inside the card I stamped a quote from Audrey Hepburn using a Sheena Douglass stamp...
...and because the card was bulky I made a pizza-style box to keep it safe.
The other box is for another wedding card that I made which I will show you next time.

Sarah.....

It was my nephew Dan's wife Sarah's birthday last month. I had some Hunky Dory freebies that were particularly pretty and decided to use one of the papers and toppers for Sarah's card. I used an 8" square scalloped card for the base, then added the patterned cardstock, wrapped with pink velvet ribbon and matted onto gold mirri card, to the centre of the card front. I cut the gold border from the typewriter (remember those?!) image- because it was a different gold to the mirri- then mounted it onto gold mirri and adhered it to the left of the card front with foam pads. I added a sentiment from the freebie collection, along with 'SARAH' cut from pink glittercard shadowed with gold, using foam pads. A trio of pink pearls completes the card.

Jasmine......

I made this card earlier this year for one of Hubby's secretaries for her daughter's 13th birthday, and what better cartridge to use than Paper Doll Teen Scene?
The card base is A4 in size and the papers from my stash - don't know who made them!- met the colour brief perfectly. I cut the doll from white cardstock, then coloured her with a blush ProMarker, as I find it difficult to find decent flesh-toned cardstock. I then gave her a patterned paper dress and sparkly shoes. I added a necklace, earrings and bracelet using gems. A hand cut glittery parcel was adhered to her hand. The completed figure was adhered to a central embossed panel with foam pads.
The sentiment and name were were cut from glittercard and adhered flat to the card. A smattering of bling completes the card.

Badger Birthday.......

I'm not sure whether I've shown this card as yet, but here goes anyway.
I made this card last year as a commission. The brief was black and white and badgers. Ok. So, I didn't have a badger image on a cart so I went to trusty old Google Images and found this image of a badger. I printed it out three times then decoupaged it. I used paper from DCWV Neutrals stack choosing a black and white palette. I kept the design simple (as always with commission cards) matting the badger image onto black and white cardstock and adhering it to the centre of the card with foam tape. I added a stamped sentiment, again matted with black and white cardstock. '65' was cut from black glitter card shadowed with white cardstock then adhered with foam pads above the image. A smattering of monochrome Card Candi completes the card.

HOWZAT!!!!!!!!

I made this card a couple of months ago for Rhea's hubby Phil, but Rhea's mum Mary gave me the wrong date and it went to him on her sister Menai's fiancĂ© Krish's birthday instead! Oops! Never mind. It's his birthday next week so he can hoik it out of the drawer and put it out!
Phil loves playing cricket, so I went to www.printableheaven.co.uk and downloaded a sports collection which included this cricketer and background papers. The image is a pyramage, which after assembling I matted onto blue cardstock, and adhered it to the front of an  8" square card, decorated with the cricketer paper and 'cigarette card' paper. I stamped 'Happy Birthday' with Memento black ink above the image, and added cricket balls cut from some ancient paper in my stash. I added acrylic bubbles to the balls to make them shiny. 'HOWZAT!' & 'PHIL' was cut from pale green cardstock shadowed with blue.
All the elements on the card were adhered with foam pads/tape.

Lottie Rose.......

Krishnan's girlfriend Sofia asked me to make her a card for her cousin's adorable little girl Lottie's Christening, and she also asked me if I would make one for her mum & dad as they were to be Godparents, and I duly obliged.
The first card is the one that I made for Joe & Nina, Sofia's mum & dad. It was very simple, with the details computer generated onto a piece of white cardstock, leaving room above for a beautiful, yet simple cross, cut from pink, pearlised cardstock with a mirri backing and decorated with a small ribbon bow and pearl flower. The panel was matted onto pink & silver mirri cardstock then adhered to an 8" scalloped square card. Two die-cut flourishes embellished with pearl flowers completes the card.

The card that I made for Sofia is equally simple, with the same base card, but this time the white cardstock is embellished with a swirl embossing folder. The cross, again was cut from pink pearlised cardstock and layered onto rainbow mirri. 'Lottie Rose' & 'Christening' were cut from the same materials. Three pearlised pink butterflies completes the card.

Twenties Glamour........

It was our niece Anita's birthday at the end of last month (she is Skanda's cousin -previous post)
and this is the card that I made for her. I used fab Art Deco inspired papers and a lovely flapper image from Papermania. The card is an A5 and the papers are foiled, black and silver giving the card an opulent look. I matted the image onto black and silver card and adhered it slightly off-centre onto the front of the base card. I added some black gems, and a feather topped with a black, sheer bow and glittery brad. 'ANITA' was cut from the silver patterned paper and backed with black cardstock, then adhered below the image with foam pads. A little bit of glitter on the moon and stars on the image completes the card.

All That Jazz!........

Please excuse the quality and size of this photo! I deleted the original from my camera and had to get Naren to send me a pic from his phone.
Naren was 21 at the beginning of this month -how time flies (big sigh!)- and as he LOVES jazz music I thought that I'd use these fab downloads from www.printableheaven.co.uk to make this 8x8 card. I printed the saxophonist and border onto glossy photo paper (the blue background was printed onto ordinary paper) and matted them onto gold and black cardstock. I covered the front of the card with the blue paper then added the centre embossed panel with foam tape, 'NAREN' & '21' were cut from blue mirri cardstock shadowed with black then adhered with foam pads.

Twenty Five Happy Years!!...

Our friends, Khalid and Adele, celebrate twenty five years of marriage in February. They had a big party in Middlesborough, which we of course attended, and this is the card that I made for them.
I had some very pretty rose patterned paper on my computer, so I printed it off onto some pearlised paper, and used it to cover the front of a scalloped 8" square card. I then topped it with a beautiful filigree heart cut from silver mirri card. I added a patterned paper heart to the centre of the filigree heart and topped it with '25' cut from silver glitter card shadowed with silver mirri. 'Happy Anniversary' was stamped onto a scrap of the rose paper, then die-cut using an XCut label die. 'K' & 'A' were cut from more silver glittercard shadowed with mirri. All of the elements were adhered with foam pads. The heart was lavishly decorated with diecut foliage, sheer ribbon and pearlised flowers, with a smattering of clear gems to complete the card.....

....along with a decorated 'pizza-style' box to put it in!
Adele later informed me that she has framed the card. Result!

Remember Rohit and Izzy who married almost two years ago? Well, they had a beautiful baby girl last month and they named her Lara Anais. Of course I had to make a card to go along with the gift that we bought her.
The card base is an 8"x8" scalloped square. I embossed white cardstock with a patchwork design embossing folder, matted it with pink cardstock and adhered it to the card. I added a piece of patterned paper, then topped it with a button embossed square of cardstock matted onto a scalloped square of pink. The beautiful Silver Cross style pram was cut from silver mirri and pink cardstock embellished with pearls, then adhered to a circle of embossed cardstock matted onto a scalloped circle. 'LARA ANAIS' was cut from pink glittercard and adhered flat to the circle above the pram. I added a polka dot, satin ribbon bow and a stamped tag to complete the card.

Love cannot be seen or heard.....

I made this card for my hubby for our anniversary back in January. The backing paper is from the DCWV Once Upon A Time stack which was languishing, unused, in the shed of all places! So I thought that I may as well use it for this card. I used 'centre-point' to cut a heart in the centre of a piece of beige-grey cardstock, then embossed it with an 'Argyle' folder. I then matted the embossed panel onto a piece of gold cardstock, carefully cutting around the heart aperture leaving a small border. I stamped the sentiment onto another piece of patterned paper then adhered it behind the aperture. The completed panel was then adhered to the front of the card with foam tape. Four die-cut (X Cut) corners were added to the card along with 'Husband' cut from more gold cardstock and a stamped 'Happy Anniversary' sentiment.

Classy & Fabulous........

I don't know about you, but I LOVE black and white cards, especially when they have a pop of colour- not too much, just a smidgen. I used various patterned papers and black pearlised cardstock for this 8" square card. I cut items of a lady's wardrobe from various papers then adhered them to white, embossed squares matted onto black scalloped squares- three in all plus a sentiment square. To Have And To Hold......

I made this wedding card last year after seeing something similar on a blog. I used an A5 card base and some lovely burgundy print paper from my ancient stash. I matted a piece of cream pearlised cardstock onto some burgundy pearlised card who's long edges were punched with a MS heart punch. I added a piece of the patterned paper, some pretty lace and burgundy sheer ribbon to the cream panel before adhering it with foam tape to the burgundy panel. The panel was then adhered centrally to the front of the card with foam tape. I cut the delicate heart from cream pearlised cardstock and matted it onto a burgundy 'blackout'. I added a length of fine silver cord to the top of the heart, then adhered it to the card front, slightly offset, with foam pads. 'To Have And To Hold' was stamped with burgundy ink onto a die-cut label and adhered to the bottom of the panel with foam pads. A diecut branch and ferns, sheer ribbon bow, large WOC bloom and smaller burgundy carnations, a pearl heart and a liberal smattering of pearls completes the card.
