Dad's radio......
One of the ladies who comes to my Wednesday classes and my Swarms wanted to make a card with a radio on it for her hubby. I suggested that she make a card in the shape of a radio and together we came up with this (although this is my take on the card- Chris's was different) I cut a base card to start from white cardstock, then adhered the two shapes together at the side. I then cut another piece of plain brown cardstock and adhered it to the card. The radio icon was then cut from woodprint paper and brown mirri, put together and adhered with foam pads to the card base, leaving a narrow border around the cut. I added a rim around the dial cut from silver mirri and adhered with foam pads. The cream circle behind the 'pointer' was embossed with a woodgrain-effect embossing folder. A silver card candi added to the centre finished off the dial. To complete the card I added some musical notes cut from black mirri, 'Dad' and a 'Happy Fathers Day' oval cut from brown mirri and holographic card.
Here is a version for a brother's birthday too!
Carts used:
Radio shaped card- Suburbia
Dial rim- George (silhouette feature)
Dad- Beyond Birthdays
Happy Fathers Day- Father's Day Solutions
Musical notes- Groovy Times
Brother's radio:
As above plus:
Happy Birthday- Stamping Solutions
Bro- Suburbia
I'll be back with a girly version

Sister.....
I've got a monochrome card for you today. For this card I used freebie papers from a past edition of Creative Cardmaking and the card base is a C5 tent-fold.
I cut three pennants from cardstock and topped them with patterned paper pennants cut to the same size. This gives rigidity to the cut when they are raised on foam pads. I arranged them on a piece of white cardstock , with decorative punched corners, which was then matted onto lavender cardstock. When I was sure that they were evenly spaced I adhered them to the card front with foam pads. I topped the pennants with a decorative tag, which was threaded through with sheer ribbon. 'Sister' was cut from lavender pearlised cardstock, then adhered to a hand-cut rectangular, embossed panel which was matted with more lavender cardstock. It was adhered flat over the decorative tag and then embellished with a sheer ribbon bow and a crepe paper rose from The Range.
To finish, I added a medium sized pearl to the end of each pennant.

Secret Garden.....
Sorry I've not been around for a while...I have absolutely no excuse! Anyway, I hope these three cards will make up for it! I have used beautiful papers from Graphic 45's Secret Garden 12x12 stack and a scalloped card base. Each card is topped by a beautiful graphic matted onto a scalloped rectangle, then embellished in slightly different ways. This one with a sheer bow and WOC bloom....
...this one with a sheer bow and hellibore and rose corner arrangement and Cheery Lyn die flourish....
...and finally a sheer bow and glittery sentiment.

Little Sailor.....
I've got a kiddie's card for you today. I picked up the new Trimcraft 'Ahoy There!' 6x6 paper pack from The Range a couple of weeks ago, and I thought that these cute stripes and anchor papers would make a lovely card for a little boy.
I cut a shaped card base from white cardstock then added striped and red mats. I cut a smaller panel for the centre of the card from the anchor paper, again matted with red. Because the cartridge doesn't have a shadow facility, I cut the red mats 1/4" larger than the patterned mats. Before adhering the centre panel to the card, I added some blue and white bakers twine from which dangles an anchor cut from silver mirri.
The cute little sailboat was cut from red, black, white and blue cardstock. I added some detail around the portholes with a white gel pen then adhered it to the card with foam pads. The sentiment cut from blue card was adhered flat the glittered.

Card base, panels and mats- Creative Cards
Sailboat- New Arrival
Anchor- Going Places
Little Sailor- Lyrical Letters

Celebrate With Style!......
My BIL Steve was 51 yesterday and this is the card that I made for him. It's an 8x8 square and the fab papers are Wild Rose Studio's Man About Town 6x6 pad. I got mine from www.bunnyzoescrafts.co.uk. I used three designs from the pack and some red and black cardstock. The fab figure was cut once from black cardstock and then again from red- I cut the bow tie from the red cut and adhered it to the black cut. I also added a teeny triangle of red cardstock to the pocket on the jacket to create a handkerchief, and a gem to the sleeve for a cufflink. Black velvet ric-rac braid was adhered over the join in the stripe and damask papers, then the central panel and the figure were applied with foam tape. '51' was cut from red glittercard with a black shadow, then adhered with foam pads. I finished the card with some red and black card candi.
Carts used:
Figure- Suburbia
51- Don Juan
