Birthday Rainbow...

Our nephew Skanda, who lives in Oz, was 19 last Wednesday, and this is the card that I made for him. It's an 8" square with, believe it or not, absolutely no patterned paper! I only used vibrant textured cardstock and holographic mirri. I used rainbow coloured textured card to cut the rainbow and smiley t-shirt, blue holographic for 'SKANDA', red holographic for '19' and plain black mirri for the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment. All elements were adhered with foam pads.
Carts used:
SKANDA/19- Life's A Party

Footy Trio.....

Like all of us, I make an awful lot of girly/feminine cards, but am frequently asked for 'boy' cards by the ladies who come to my workshops. This is a card that I made for my first workshops of the new year. The card is a C5  and the papers are old ones from my stash. I cut three postage stamp shaped panels and topped each with a football related icon- a ref's whistle, a ball (of course!) and a shirt. to complete the card I added a trio of phrases. All elements were adhered to the card with foam pads.
Carts used:
Postage stamp panels- Elegant Edges
Whistle/Header/Goal !- All Sports
Ball-Life's A Party
Shirt/Score- Sports Mania

Good Luck Jon.......

This is the card that I made for Sam's brother Jonathan. He's coming to the end of a lengthy process to join the Royal Navy, and at last will be joining in June. I have to say that I went above and beyond the call of duty and tied a real life seafaring knot for an embellishment! I just Googled 'sailing knots' and came up with a step-by-step guide, but don't ask me what this particular knot is called. I used some white cord to tie the knot and then adhered it to the right hand side of the card beside an offset panel, which was embossed with a Papermania Union flag embossing folder. I cut an anchor from silver mirri and adhered it with foam pads to the centre of the flag. 'GOOD LUCK' & 'JON' were cut from navy cardstock and adhered flat.

Anchor- Going Places
Sentiment- Lyrical Letters

Sam.....

My boss Jennie's daughter Sam was 21 last Wednesday and we went to her party last night. She shared the occasion with her brother Jon who is joining the Royal Navy in June (I'll show you the card that I made for him tomorrow)
The card is an 8" square, and I used some papers in Sam's fave colour, purple. The little lady on the card was cut at 11" and then I chopped off her bottom half so that she would fit snugly in the corner. I dressed her in a purple shimmery embossed dress and blinged her up. Now I wanted to make the image look older so I did a make-up job on her!

I cut her out of white cardstock and coloured her with ProMarkers shading her cheeks and adding some lips. I also added irises to her eyes with a blue watercolour pen and some lashes and eyebrows too. I finished her make-up with some glittery 'eye-shadow'. I hand cut a pressie and wrapped some narrow purple ribbon around it and added a bow. The completed figure was adhered to a central panel, which was embellished with a sheer bow, Hobby House bloom and pin, and the name and age cut from glittercard. A smattering of gems completes the card.
Carts used:
Party Girl- Paper Doll Teen Scene
Central panel- Elegant Edges

60!

I cannot believe (and neither can a lot of his colleagues and friends) that my other half is now 60! Seriously, he looks at least 10 years younger and still enjoys some rough and tumble with the kids every now and again. I made him a bright and cheerful, and somewhat young-at-heart card. It's a biggun at A4 size, and I used papers that my friend and colleague Vicky kindly gave me last year. They were perfect for this card. I stayed with my simple A4 card recipe, and cut the sentiment from orange mirri and blue holographic card, and the balloons from irridescent multicolour shimmer card from the Craft Planet aisle at The Range. I added some silver strings to the balloons and a couple of punched stars to anchor them to the '60'.

Sentiment & 60- Don Juan
Balloons- George and Basic Shapes

Champagne Congrats........

One of No1 son's housemates asked me to make her a card for her dad and his bride-to-be. All she wanted on the card were champagne flutes and 'a few other weddingy bits', and it had to be pretty. Well, I think I just about managed all three!
The card is an A4 and the papers are Pink Petticoat printed onto white pearlised paper- very pretty for wedding cards. I used two different designs of paper, peach pearlised paper and silver mirri. The champagne flutes were cut from silver mirri and gold pearlised cardstock, then adhered to a central white embossed panel. I added diamante heart stickers from The Range, a peach and white WOC floral arrangement, and the sentiment and names cut from silver mirri. A smattering of gems completes the card.
Carts used:
Champagne flutes- Tie The Knot
Dad and Amanda- Storybook (shorty holes font)
Congratulations- Paper Lace 2
I'd just like to take this opportunity to ask any of the ladies who are coming to the Swarm on the 13th if they would please check their carts and see if they have picked up any of the workshops carts by mistake. They will be marked with either a 'JF' or 'Jendenink'. Thank you.

Better late than never!!.......

Blimey, I'm a bit late with other Easter card that I promised you, but here it is. Isn't this little bunny bear sooooo cute? I cut the little bear at 4" and then dressed him in a cute bunny outfit cut from white and pink cardstock. I added some eggs (little circles of paper) to his basket 'cos it was empty, and a fabric bow to his outfit in place of the paper one. The card base is a C5 and the papers are an old DCWV Spring Stack. The corners of the patterned paper panel and yellow mat were were rounded with a corner rounder., and trimmed with yellow polka dot ribbon. The bunny bear was adhered to a scalloped oval, then adhered to the front of the card with foam pads. 'Happy Easter' was cut from pink and yellow cardstock, adhered to a panel, then popped onto the card over the ribbon.
Carts used:
Bunny Bear- Teddy Bear Parade
Scalloped oval- Elegant Edges
Happy Easter- Phrases
My new Cricut came today so I'm a happy bunny!
