Asian Retirement...
I made this A4 card last year. It was a commission from one of Hubby's secretaries. I went with an opulent Indian look, using some gold embossed paper and some dull gold/mirri cardstock. I cut the fab Taj Mahal from pearlised white cardstock, matted it onto embossed ice-blue pearlised cardstock, and framed it with and equally Indian-style frame cut from dull gold cardstock matted with gold mirri. I cut some fabulous peacock feathers and adhered them either side of the frame and added the name and sentiment cut from pearlised white cardstock and adhered with foam pads. The card was finished with a bow, single jasmine bloom and a quartet of jade green pearls.
Carts used:
Taj Mahal- Inspired Heart
Peacock Feathers- Sentimentals
Name/Sentiment- Ashlyn's Alphabet

Kate.....
My niece Kate was 21 last week and this the card that I made for her. It is an 8" square (gotta love this size!) and the scrummy papers are Pink Petticoat's Marshmallow downloads. I used a grey and pink colour pallette- so pretty together- with grey cardstock for matting. '21' was cut from grey dotty paper and white cardstock adhered together for strength as was 'Kate' which was cut from pink dotty paper. Both elements were adhered to the card front with foam pads. I added some pink polka dot ribbon over the join in the papers, topped with a WOC rose, heart pin (with a bugle bead over the sharp end to protect against pin pricks!) a PP sentiment and a tiny silver key charm attached with silver cord. A smattering of pearls completes the card.

Beautiful Birdcage........
When I saw this birdcage I knew that I could turn it into a shaped card. Unfortunately the cut doesn't have a shadow (to be able to create the base with) so after cutting out the cage and it's layer, I just placed it onto the front of a C5 card and drew around it leaving a border of approximately 1cm. I then adhered some lovely sage green backing paper from Papermania to the card front, cutting away the excess. The cage was made up by adhering the top layer to the base layer with foam pads. I then adhered the cage to the card front. The cage was decorated with a Cheery Lyn die flourish, WOC blooms and a butterfly cut from pink glittercard. A claret coloured sheer bow, computer-generated sentiment and a smattering of pearls completes the card.
Carts used:
Bird cage- French Manor
Butterfly- Paper Lace

For Mum......
I know that this is late (and I've been told I'm a bad blogger!) but this is the card that I sent to my Mum for Mother's Day last week. I hope you all had a lovely day. No1 son treated me to lunch in London and this week I have No2 son home for 5 WEEKS over Easter! Yippee!! I'm knackered though as we went up to York yesterday- staying in a rather tatty Travel Lodge for the night- to fetch him and all his c#*p home as he has had to vacate his room for the duration. It was 261 flamin' miles! Then we'll have to do it all again after Easter- what larks!!!
Anyway, back to the card. The card base is a C5 tent-fold, the background paper is a download from I don't know where, and the rose paper is from a magazine freebie 6x6 pack. I matted the lilac paper onto purple and white cardstock and adhered it to the front of the card. I then cut the rose-print paper into 2 equally sized panels, then matted them in the same colours as the backing paper. I added a punched border across the two panels, adhering a couple of die-cut flourishes at either end. I cut a scalloped oval from purple cardstock and added a white oval, embossed with a swirl design. 'Happy Mother's Day' was cut from purple cardstock and glittercard, and adhered to the oval. The oval was adhered with foam pads to the centre of the card. A Prima/WOC floral arrangement and a smattering of pearls completes the card.
Carts used:
Scalloped oval- Elegant Edges
Plain oval- Opposites Attract
Happy Mother's Day- Phrases

Shhhhh!
I've got a Mother's Day card for you today. I surprise myself because I'm usually the last person to post anything relevant related to any occasion (apart from family birthdays etc) but I made this one for my workshop and I can now post it. The card is a standard C5 and the polka dot paper is Pink Petticoat and the floral paper is from a 6x6 pad- Floral Fantasy by Louise Tyler- a freebie with Cardmaking and Papercraft last month (I think)
I cut a panel from the floral paper and shadowed it twice with pink then white cardstock. I also cut two borders which were adhered across the top and bottom of the card, then the shaped panel adhered over them with foam pads. I cut the fab figure, which I flipped, from pearlised black cardstock, embellishing her with some pearls. She was adhered to the floral panel with foam pads. I added a double bow, WOC bloom and a Pink Petticoat sentiment to finish.
Carts used:
Shaped panel- Lacy Labels
Borders- Paper Lace
Figure- Suburbia
