Welcome Lois Pearl......

Here is the card that I promised you yesterday, this time for Harry's cousin Lois Pearl. As I said yesterday, when this card was ordered she hadn't been born and I was a bit worried in case the parents changed the name! I'm assuming that everything went to plan as I didn't hear anything to the contrary!
The card base is an A4 and again, the papers are downloads from Pink Petticoat. The beautiful vintage Silver Cross-style pram was cut from silver mirri and pink pearlised cardstock. I added some daisy trim to the hood and pearls to the wheel hubs. 'Welcome' and 'Lois Pearl' were cut from pink glittercard and adhered with foam pads. A sheer ribbon bow, WOC rose and a smattering of daisies completes the card.

Welcome Harry.....

Back in October I was asked to make a couple of new arrival cards..one for a baby already here, Harry, and one for a baby girl who wasn't yet born (although she is now!) Today I'm showcasing Harry's card. The card size is an A4 and the papers are downloads from Pink Petticoat. I used my usual commission card layout. The baby was cut from white paper, coloured with ProMarkers. I didn't like the face on the cut, so I cut a blackout face layer, and created a different face with Pro Markers......

...with this result. I was really pleased with the sweet, cherubic look. I gave him a pearlised, embossed cloud and a glittery moon to lie on. I added a teeny pom-pom to his hat and a trio of punched stars above his head.
'Welcome' and 'Harry' were cut from white glittercard and adhered to the card with foam pads. A sheer bow and a smattering of punched stars completes the card.

Domestic goddess....

As promised, here is the final card in the commission trio. This one was for the mother of the High Maintenance Girlfriend. The card is an A4 and the papers, as before, from Creative Cardmaking mag. The figure was cut from black cardstock, and I gave her a festive apron, and a christmas pud on her tray. She is also sporting a pearl necklace and earrings. She was adhered to the card with foam pads. 'Domestic Goddess' was cut from pink mirri card and adhered flat. 'Merry Christmas' and 'Jackie' were cut from white glittercard and adhered with foam pads. A snowflake adorns each corner and a smattering of punched snowflakes adorn the sides of the card. Pink gems were added to the centres of the snowflakes to complete the card.

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy New Year

Merry Christmas Gary......

Here is the second of the trio of cards that I made for a commission. The recipient is the father of the High Maintenance Girlfriend. Apparently he lifts weights to keep fit and my client wanted a card to reflect that. There is only one cart with a weight-lifter on it, so out it came and I got cutting. The card base is an A4 and the papers, again, are from Creative Cardmaking. I cut the figure from white cardstock and coloured it with Promarkers, adding shading for a six-pack and features on the face. I gave him Christmassy pants and replaced the weights with Christmas puds. I added punched holly and Stickles berries to the tops of the puds. 'Merry Christmas' and 'Gary' were cut from green glittercard and adhered to the card with foam pads. Larger sprigs of punched holly were added to each corner of the card. The berries were punched from red glittercard with a Cropodile.
Carts used:
Strongman- Carousel (Lite)
Merry Christmas- Wild Card (RDS on)
Gary- George
I'll be back with the final card of the trio tomorrow

Merry Christmas Stacey......

Before I begin, I apologise for the photo (it's slightly out of focus) and I hope you all had a great Christmas and are now looking forward to the New Year. I don't normally post Christmas cards because all the cards that I make at this time of year are for my workshops and then they go to the people on my Christmas card list. My last workshop was on 19th December this year so I've only just sent my last batch of cards (naughty, naughty me!)
I had a commission before Christmas to make three cards- for a weightlifter, domestic goddess and a high-maintenance girlfriend! You can probably guess who the card above was for. I reckoned that high maintenace girlfriends LOVE, nay DEMAND presents, so I created a present stack with a couple of gifts on show. The card base is an A4 and the papers are from Creative Cardmaking magazine. The boxes were created from different types of gold card, embossed and decorated with ribbon bows. I cut a handbag from red glittercard with a gold handle and a gold glittery shoe with red floral embellishment. 'Merry Christmas' & 'Stacey' were cut from gold glittercard and adhered to the card with foam pads. A trio of punched red, glittery stars completes the card.
Carts used:
Boxes- George & Basic Shapes
Handbag- Suburbia
Shoe- Forever Young
Merry Christmas- Wild Card (RDS on)
Stacey- Winter Woodland
I'll be back soon with another of the trio of cards
Thanks for looking!

An equine birthday......

My brother Nick had his birthday on 12th December. Now he and his wife Lisa look after a horse called Smurf- they've kind of adopted it- and I thought that a horse would be perfect for his card. This is a rather grand horse, more of a dray-horse than a showjumper methinks! I cut the horse from black pearlised cardstock (this is the simplest version from the handbook) and the livery was cut from gold and ivory pearlised cardstock. I added an 'S' for Smurf to the saddle. The papers in shades of black, gold and ivory are from Dovecraft. 'NICK' was cut from black pearlised card shadowed with gold mirri, and the sentiment and brackets were cut from gold mirri. All elements were adhered with foam pads.

'Nick' & 'Happy Birthday'- George & Basic Shapes
Brackets- Sphisticated

A teddy for Holli.....

The day I flew to India my little great-niece Holli had her 4th birthday. I made her a teddy bear birthday card using this cute fairy bear. The bear body was cut from textured cardstock, and I added some small googly-eyes and eyelashes for a realistic effect. The clothes were cut from glittercard and the crown and wand from silver mirri. The wings were cut from spotted, glittered vellum from Papermania. The card base is an 8" square offset gatefold, and the papers are Dovecraft. The bear was adhered with foam pads to a central panel on the front of the card, along with the '4' and 'today' cut from pink glittercard. The '4' was adhered with foam pads and 'today' was adhered flat. 'Holli' cut from more pink glittercard was adhered vertically to the right hand narrow gatefold panel with foam pads.
A smattering of punched, glittery hearts completes the card.
