Feel better soon.....

My auntie went into hospital last week for an operation, so I sent her this card to (hopefully) cheer her up. I used papers from the First Edition 'Bird Song'  8x8 stack and two of my latest aquisitions, cartridge wise.
The large lozenge shape on the front of the card was cut from embossed cardstock (the embossing isn't deep so it cuts ok) and embellished with a bloom cut from shimmer cardstock (it looks a bit like a triffid!). I added a couple of little butterfies and some punched flowers with pearl centres. The sentiment (which cut beautifully!) was also cut from shimmer cardstock, layered up and adhered with foam pads to the card front.
Carts used:
Flower - Kate's ABC (such a cute cart!)
Sentiment & shaped panel- Phrases (Boy! Was this cart  a long time coming!)
Butterflies- Stamping Solutions
Hope you're all having a great weekend!
TTFN!

A Shoe shop for Menai.....

The eldest daughter of some very good friends of ours had her birthday on Tuesday, and this is the card that I made for her. I'd seen a similar card in the U.K Cards 'bookazine' (sadly no longer available) It was a stamped card so I tweaked it a bit to make it suitable for a Cricut card! I used papers which were a magazine freebie, some gros-grain ribbon and a blowsy bloom. I cut three stands from silver mirri, and a selection of shoes, cut from glitter card and shimmer cardstock. The stands and shoes were adhered above the punched, ribbon-trimmed border with foam pads. I flipped one of the shoes to make a more appealing arrangement. 'Menai' was cut from pink mirri shadowed with blue, then adhered above the ribbon with foam pads. 'Happy Birthday' was computer-generated onto Safmat, then trimmed and applied above the name.
A gem was adhered to each of the stands, and a trio of gems to the ribbon to complete the card.
Carts used:
Stands- Serenade
Menai-Ashlyn's Alphabet
Strappy Shoe-Formal Occasion
Two-tone Shoe-Everyday Pop-Up Cards
Blue Shoe-Forever Young

You Float My Boat......

The ladies who come to my Cricut workshops will recognise this card as I made it for the 'Men's Cards' workshop. The backing papers were from a download, unfortunately I can't remember where I had them from! The panels were matted onto red cardstock, and I added a blue panel embossed with a 'Wave' Fiskars Texture Plate. I cut the motor boat from silver mirri then backed it with white glossy cardstock, cutting away the excess. I added a red mirri 'go faster' stripe then adhered the boat to the blue panel with foam pads. The sentiment was cut from red mirri with blue mirri highlights, then adhered below the boat with more foam pads.
A trio of Card Candi Dots completes the card.

A First!!!!.......

No, you needn't go to Specsavers! That is definately NOT English on the front of the card. It is, in fact, Hungarian- Boldog szuletesnapot means 'Happy Birthday'
I made this card for a colleague of my hubby, who wanted a card for his wife. I had no brief, except that the greeting should be in Hungarian and A4 in size, so I came up with this and fortunately he loved it! I used Papermania oriental papers and shimmer cardstock for the sentiment, vines and butterflies. The bird was cut from First Edition 'Birdsong' papers. I added some olive green ribbon and some punched/embossed flowers with pearl centres to finish.
Carts used:
Bird & vines- Wall Decor & More
Sentiment & name- Winter Woodland

Wedding Waterfall......

In all my years of cardmaking I have NEVER made a waterfall card. I saw some demos on Youtube and they didn't look TOO complicated so I thought I'd give it a go. And this is the end result, and I have to say that I was pretty damned chuffed with it. I used some funky background paper from Dovecraft's Black & Gold A4 pack, and plenty of gold mirri. This is the first panel, which was decorated with a 'Mr & Mrs' icon cut from gold mirri (as are all the elements except for the final element which was cut from white glittercard) then adhered with foam pads.
The second panel is a wedding & engagement ring.....
....the third panel some embossed bells (well, debossed actually as I put them in the folder wrong side up!)...
...and the final panel, a glittery white cake on a golden stand!
Each of the panels were embellished with gold mirri punched/embossed flowers and pearls.
Gold ribbon, a bow and 'Congratulations' cut from more mirri card completes the card.
These are such fun to make that I made a few more- which I'll show you in time- and I'll be making MANY more.. you should know me by now!

All panels- Winter Woodland
Mr & Mrs, rings,bells & cake- Sweethearts

Have a merry day!.......

OMG!! HARRY POTTER ROCKS!!!
Went to Port Solent on Sunday to see HP2...It was fantastic...worth all the hype.. and a fitting end to the HP saga. We saw the 2D version as we'd heard that the 3D effects weren't brilliant...and we weren't disappointed. Go and see it if you can, but take a hankie!
Anyhoo, on to the card. Another super simple one along the same lines as the Ferris wheel card a few posts ago. I used papers from the First Edition 'Bird Song' 8x8 stack. I embossed a piece of white cardstock and adhered the carousel- or merry-go-round depending where you come from!- which was cut from Papermania shimmer cardstock, with foam pads. I decorated the carousel with some gems and a rose and sheer ribbon bow. Green ribbon was wrapped around the white panel before it was adhered to the card  front with foam tape. I used the same stickers that I used on the Ferris wheel card, for the sentiment, but again a computer generated Safmat sentiment would work just as well.

Merry-Go-Round- Carousel Lite
Thanks for dropping by, and thanks for the lovely comments left for a couple of my previous cards. I really appreciate it!
