For A Labrador Lover.....

I was commissioned to make another card for the same customer who I made the Nadine & Dave cards for. This time the brief was for a card for a labrador lovers 25th birthday. I don't have a cart with a recognisable labrador on, so I turned to trusty Google Images and downloaded a picture of a golden labrador. I printed it out twice onto textured cardstock- giving it a look of a canvas print- then decoupaged the images for dimension. I used papers from the DCWV Natural stack and a simple layout. The image was matted onto brown cardstock & gold mirri card. The panels of patterned paper received the same treatment. The completed image panel was adhered to the card front with foam tape. The sentiment & '25' were cut from paper and shadowed with gold mirri, then adhered with foam pads. Gold Card Candi dots complete the card.

Kick It!......

It was my BIL Steve's birthday last week and this is the card that I made for him. I thought that he'd appreciate a fun card as he's a fun bloke! He's also has a black belt in karate and runs his own Dojo. My little great niece Chelsea loves to go along with her Grandad and joins in- she even got her first belt a few weeks ago! Not bad for an almost 6 year old!
Anyway, back to the card. I used some freebie papers from Creative Cardmaking (Pink Petticoat papers I think!) and a very simple layout, the best thing where guy cards are concerned! I cut the little karate guy from white card, shadowed him with black and gave him some googly eyes. For added fun I adhered him to the card with a Papermania spring. The sentiment was cut from black card and adhered flat to the card.

I hope you're having a great weekend. The weather here is glorious, I've got my washing blowing in a gentle breeze and I've cut the lawn (no mean feat with a 170ft garden on a hot day!)
Happy Weekend!!!

Oooooh Doctor!!!.....

I found some great cards here, and as usual I tweaked them so that they weren't exactly the same. I cut two tops @ 5 1/2" to make a base card, then one in textured cardstock (white for a Doctor and blue for a nurse). I added neck trims to both tops and then they were decorated with various cuts. The finished tops were adhered to the front of the card with foam pads. I had great fun making these and it took me back to when I wore a uniform (albeit theatre scrubs) a good few moons ago!

To The Happy Couple.......

Don't these little cuties look happy?! Wedding cards are usually quite formal but I decided to make a humourous one with this little pair. I used a pop-out stepper for the card base and Papermania Wedding Collection papers. The little couple were cut from pearlised (bride's dress) and textured cardstock. The bride's dress was embossed and I added pearls to her headdress. I didn't cut the flowers for the bouquet (just the leafy background) adding teeny flowers instead. I gave the groom the same treatment for his buttonhole. They were both adhered to a scalloped heart then fixed to the front of the card with foam pads. A smaller scalloped heart holds the sentiment and a pearl heart. A punched ribbon-trimmed border and a floral arrangement completes the card.

Baby Bear.........

At the moment I'm making standard C5 cards for my workshops and I've made a few for my stash, but I've still got some shaped cards to show you. Here are a couple more scalloped oval cards, this time for babies, with the cutest bear as the focal point.
I cut the card base from plain white card and covered the front of the card with pink/blue paper. I then cut a plain oval from patterned paper shadowed with plain white cardstock. I added a punched ribbon trimmed border, then adhered the whole oval panel to the front of the card with foam pads. The bear was cut twice, from cardstock and patterned paper, adhered together for extra stability. I added contrasting paws, a ribbon bow, and teeny black pearls for the eyes and nose. The bear was adhered across the border with foam pads. 'Little Baby' was cut from glittercard shadowed with white cardstock. The sentiment has a heart between the two words but I removed it because otherwise the sentiment wouldn't fit on the card.

A bloom was added to the bow to complete the card.

Missing You.....

Poor Tatty Teddy..he's lonesome & blue...he's Missing You!
I love these cute images from the Design Objectives 'Me To You' 8x8 paper pack.
My cards are generally Cricut generated (as you all know!)but I couldn't resist using this little chap along with the usual Cricut cuts..it doesn't hurt to mix it up once in a while does it?!
I used a simple layout on a 6x6 card- three squares (one scalloped), one centrally placed and the others offset. The second largest panel was embellished with a punched, ribbon trimmed border. The Tatty Teddy image was adhered with foam pads to the scalloped square which was then adhered to the punched border. The sentiment was cut from glittercard- once in pink, once in blue, cut apart then re-assembled to create a two-tone effect. It was shadowed with pink cardstock then adhered to the card front, slightly overlapping the image, with foam pads. A bloom and a smattering of pearls completes the card.

Dave.......

Here's the second commission card that I made for our customer. Her brief was camping or scouts and A4 size. The recipient is in the Royal Navy but likes camping when he's on shore leave, and I have to tell you that I had more fun than any cardmaker should have making this card! I don't have any of the 'outdoorsey' carts so I winged it with a couple of things on the card. The tent was hand cut as were the bushes behind the tent, but everything else was Cricut generated. Everthing was cut from textured cardstock except for the flames on the campfire which were cut from glittercard. I covered the front of an Anita's A4 card, leaving a border all round, with textured cardstock. I then created the centre panel camp scene which was adhered centrally to the card front with foam tape. 'Happy Birthday' and 'Dave' were added with foam pads above and below the centre panel.
