Baby Bear.........

At the moment I'm making standard C5 cards for my workshops and I've made a few for my stash, but I've still got some shaped cards to show you. Here are a couple more scalloped oval cards, this time for babies, with the cutest bear as the focal point.
I cut the card base from plain white card and covered the front of the card with pink/blue paper. I then cut a plain oval from patterned paper shadowed with plain white cardstock. I added a punched ribbon trimmed border, then adhered the whole oval panel to the front of the card with foam pads. The bear was cut twice, from cardstock and patterned paper, adhered together for extra stability. I added contrasting paws, a ribbon bow, and teeny black pearls for the eyes and nose. The bear was adhered across the border with foam pads. 'Little Baby' was cut from glittercard shadowed with white cardstock. The sentiment has a heart between the two words but I removed it because otherwise the sentiment wouldn't fit on the card.

A bloom was added to the bow to complete the card.

Missing You.....

Poor Tatty Teddy..he's lonesome & blue...he's Missing You!
I love these cute images from the Design Objectives 'Me To You' 8x8 paper pack.
My cards are generally Cricut generated (as you all know!)but I couldn't resist using this little chap along with the usual Cricut cuts..it doesn't hurt to mix it up once in a while does it?!
I used a simple layout on a 6x6 card- three squares (one scalloped), one centrally placed and the others offset. The second largest panel was embellished with a punched, ribbon trimmed border. The Tatty Teddy image was adhered with foam pads to the scalloped square which was then adhered to the punched border. The sentiment was cut from glittercard- once in pink, once in blue, cut apart then re-assembled to create a two-tone effect. It was shadowed with pink cardstock then adhered to the card front, slightly overlapping the image, with foam pads. A bloom and a smattering of pearls completes the card.

Dave.......

Here's the second commission card that I made for our customer. Her brief was camping or scouts and A4 size. The recipient is in the Royal Navy but likes camping when he's on shore leave, and I have to tell you that I had more fun than any cardmaker should have making this card! I don't have any of the 'outdoorsey' carts so I winged it with a couple of things on the card. The tent was hand cut as were the bushes behind the tent, but everything else was Cricut generated. Everthing was cut from textured cardstock except for the flames on the campfire which were cut from glittercard. I covered the front of an Anita's A4 card, leaving a border all round, with textured cardstock. I then created the centre panel camp scene which was adhered centrally to the card front with foam tape. 'Happy Birthday' and 'Dave' were added with foam pads above and below the centre panel.

Nadine......

I was asked, by a regular customer to the shop, to make a couple of cards for her. This is one of them (I'll show you the other one tomorrow) for her friend who plays for a ladies football team. The brief was lady footballer, yellow & blue and large (A4)and I think I came in on that brief pretty well! She was chuffed with it!
I used an Anita's A4 card and papers from my stash which, miraculously co-ordinated really well!
The layout is simple with two matted & layered panels. The footballer was cut from black textured cardstock and the strip cut from blue & yellow. I added a blue band to her ponytail and another football which was adhered with foam pads. The name was cut from patterned paper shadowed with blue and 'Happy Birthday' was cut from plain blue cardstock. Both sentiment & name were adhered with foam pads. I steered clear of a flower and added a 'goal' tag with a double bow instead, adhered to the top of the starry panel.

Just For You.....

Well, there goes another week! Crikey, before we know it, it'll be Christmas!
I've another shaped card for you today. It's made in exactly the same way as the 'Dream' birdcage card a couple of posts ago. This time I used DoCrafts 'Tulip' linen texture papers. These papers are sooo pretty! I cut a vase from white cardstock and spotted paper, adhering the two shapes together for extra stability. I added a couple of branches, then adhered tiny fabric flowers to them. The flowers were from the local Garden Centre- I bought a couple of stems and stripped the flowers off them. I scattered a few around the base of the vase, then added a pearl to the centre of each flower as a finishing touch. The sentiment was cut from glittercard, shadowed with plain cardstock then adhered to the front of the card with foam pads. A ribbon, bow and smattering of pearls completes the card.

Birthday Girl Bella.....

Isn't this the cutest little girl evah?! She has a brother/boyfriend called Baxtor and I got both of them as an SVG download from myscrapchick.com for about £4. There are 6 cuts- Bella & Baxtor with balloon, Bella & Baxtor frame and the Birthday girl/boy word art. I cut Bella from textured cardstock, assembled her and then adhered her to an embossed square on the largest panel on a single pop-out stepper card (haven't made on of these on yonks!) The papers used on the card are the new Tatty Teddy Me To You papers from DoCrafts. I added ribbon and a bow to a punched border then adhered it with foam pads to the card. The word art was cut from blue cardstock, adhered to a white shadow then fixed to the smaller side panel with foam pads. A couple of fuzzy flowers with pearls added to the centres completes the card.

Happy Birthday Naren!......

Our No.2 son Naren was 18 yesterday! My baby is all grown up! I made him this A4 sized card for his special day (he was pee-ed off because he had to back to college on his birthday!) I have to say that I'm not thrilled with this card (the 18's too big & the drumkit is too small) but Naren was and that's what's important isn't it?
I used Imaginesce papers and an Anita's A4 card. The papers have musical images on which is very apt as Naren plays the drums really well, so I used a set of drums as the centrepiece.
The drum set, & 'son' was adhered to a musical note embossed panel in the centre of the card with the 'Happy Birthday' and '18' adhered above and below it. I added a star punched border and some stars punched from the same gunmetal grey mirri card as the drum kit.
