New shape twisted easel.....

I really like twisted easels, and I like circular cards too. So I combined them both to create a circular twisted easel card. It took a couple of aborted tries before getting the angle right but I got there in the end! This was my first effort and I have to say that I'm really pleased with it. I dug out a Disney cart for this one ( I don't use 'em very often because they're so flamin' fiddly!)and went with a Cinderella image. I used Dovecraft 'Celebrations' papers and a circular card cut at 6". I added a punched border to the top section trimmed with ribbon, a bow and a pink daisy. Cinders was cut from pink cardstock (not blue as she is in the booklet) I changed the colour of her gloves to white, and I drew in the eyes with a marker as the pieces were minute! 'Happy Birthday' was cut from pink glittercard, shadowed with white cardstock cut by hand, then adhered to the card with foam pads. 'Pretty Princess' was cut from pink glittercard, shadowed with white then adhered to the card base, also with foam pads. A glittery heart was adhered to the card base with double height foam pads to act as a stop. A smattering of punched hearts completes the card.

Circle for top of card & other plain circles/Heart used as stop-George

Scalloped circle-Winter Woodland

Hugs And Kisses.....

Here's a little miss to make your day brighter! I love these little icons- they make you smile with their cheeky grins don't they? This little one has an added bonus in that she wibbles! The layout is very simple, on a twisted easel using papers from Dovecraft Celebrations 12 x 12 pack. The little girl was cut from blue glittercard with a white shadow. I hand cut a flower by tracing around the base cut, and then adhered it with silicone glue to the blue flower, and I adding a spotty brad to the centre. The completed icon was adhered to the card front with a Papermania spring. Three flowers with Card Candy centres were added as embellishment. The base of the card was decorated with a scalloped panel over a punched border, trimmed with ribbon and a bow. The sentiment was cut from glittercard and adhered to a scalloped square, which was adhered to the card with foam pads. A smattering of teeny Card Candy (punched from original card candy with the large hole of the Cropodile, then re-shaped)and a daisy on the dress completes the card.

Twisted Easel Cameo.....

Morning all! I've a Twisted Easel for you today and the last (I promise!) of my Mother Quote cards. The papers are from the First Edition 'Desert Blooms' 8x8 stack. The cameo oval was cut from vanilla and rust cardstock, and a head only cut from vanilla cardstock, then all pieces were embossed. The ornate oval frames were adhered together with glue then the cameo head was adhered to the frame with foam pads. The completed cameo frame was then adhered to a central panel, again with foam pads. A WOC floral arrangement adorns the side of the cameo frame. The base of the card was decorated with a punched border trimmed with wide satin ribbon and a bow, and a scalloped oval which holds the sentiment, computer generated onto Safmat. The oval was adhered with foam pads. Some fancy corners cut from cardstock and a smattering of rust-coloured pearls completes the card.

All Dressed Up....

...with somewhere to go?
It's coming up to that time of year..weddings (especially a certain important one in April) Do you know anyone who has received an invite? Maybe you could send them this card as a congratulations on getting to hob-nob with the hoi polloi! It would also suit Royal Ascot Ladies Day, an Investiture or just a special occasion of any kind.
I used a twisted easel base ( by the way I have developed another twisted easel which I'll preview soon) and Dovecraft papers from last year. I cut a very elegant hat from Bazzill and decorated it with some sheer polka dot ribbon and a WOC cherry blossom bloom. A pair of gloves cut from white Bazzill were trimmed with a narrow ribbon bow and a teeny flower cut from some trim. The hat and gloves were adhered to a central panel on foam pads, and some WOC blooms adorn the top section of the card.
A scalloped oval holds the 'All dressed Up' sentiment, which was adhered to a punched border trimmed with more sheer ribbon and a bow. A scattering of teeny flowers completes the card.

Hat, gloves & sentiment- Forever Young
Scalloped oval-A Child's Year

Birthday Girl......

Morning all! After yesterday's standard card I'm back with an extended gatefold. Normally a gatefold card has a split front, but on this extended card the fronts are z-folds, in that each of the front panels is folded back on itself- you can see it quite clearly in the photo. To make this card I used A3 cardstock but you could use two C5 cards adhered together.
The papers are Dovecraft Springtime A4 and were used to cover the front and inside back. The image was cut from lilac glittercard shadowed with white cardstock. The image had fairy wings (she's supposed to be the tooth fairy) but I cut them off. She was then adhered to a scalloped oval with foam pads. The scalloped oval was then adhered to the front of the card. A bow, a couple of floral arrangements and three teeny candy dots (made by punching circles from original candy dots with the large hole on the Cropodile, then re-shaped) adorn the oval.

Inside the card, another scalloped oval holds the 'Birthday Girl' sentiment, also cut from glittercard.

Count your blessings.....

Good grief I hear you cry! A standard card! I haven't made a bog-standard for yonks- I'm so into shaped cards that I wanted to make an ordinary card just to see if I still could, and I have to say that I'm chuffed with this card- it has a country feel to it. I used freebie papers from a Creative Cardmaking past issue (can't remember which one, but the papers are a Nit-Wits Collection) and a simple layout. The image, cut from Gemstones cardstock, was adhered to a scalloped, embossed oval then adhered to the front of the card with foam pads. A red gingham bow (love it!)punched border and a Wild Orchid Crafts floral arrangement adorn the card. 'Count your blessings' was cut from more Gemstones cardstock shadowed with white, then adhered to the bottom of the card, under the gingham ribbon, with foam pads.

The inside of the card was decorated with a punched border and a scalloped oval on a patterned paper panel to hold a greeting/stamped sentiment.

A Mother.......

I've used one of those lovely 'Mother' quotes again on this single twisted easel card.I used magazine freebie 6x6 Pink Petticoat papers. These cards are an ideal way to use up 6x6 papers. I don't buy small paper stacks as my cards are (usually) based on 7x5 C5 card bases, but I've got quite a few old ones from when I made C6 cards that I can use up on these cards.
An MS border punch, sheer pink ribbon and some sparkly butterflies adorn this card. The panel was cut three times, layered up and adhered to the front of the card with foam pads. The sentiment was computer generated onto Safmat and applied to the panel. A scalloped oval holds the 'Mum' sentiment along with another sparkly butterfly. A mostly Wild Orchid Crafts floral arrangement adorns the side of the sentiment panel. A smattering of pearls completes the card.
Carts used:
Shaped panel- Winter Woodland
Butterflies- Stamping Solutions
Scalloped oval- A Child's Year
Plain oval-George
Mum- Designer's Calendar (was 'Mum's Day' but I cut off the 's' & 'day')
