Dance......

Have you ever bought a cart because of just ONE cut on it? I have! Several times! This is the cut that sold this cart to me. She is just gorgeous! She comes in 2 parts..a solid and a cut out. Here I used both but if you just used the solid you could add a real tutu made from gathered lace or a scrap of tulle. I have positioned her so that she is standing on pointes but on the cart she looks as though she is jumping through the air...it just balanced the card better with her in this position.
I cut her from pink & cream glittercard and mounted her onto a panel of cream card embossed with a divine swirl embossing folder. Papers are K & Co. I added spotted sheer ribbon. a rose, leaves and some pink pearls. 'Dance' was cut from more glitter card. The inside was decorated with a punched border topped by a border of dancers, and a blank sentiment panel.

Happy Birthday Chelsea!....

Today my great-niece Chelsea is 5- Happy Birthday Chelsea!- and this is the card that I made for her. It's a super DL, a piece of A4 folded in half lengthways. I made an envelope for it from a piece of A3 paper from an Artist sketch Pad as I hadn't got an envelope to fit. I used DCWV papers, Smirk ribbon and self-adhesive floral trim from Dovecraft. 'Chelsea' was cut from sparkle card and the no 5 was cut from pink spotted paper. 'Chelsea' was adhered with foam pads and the no 5 adhered to a pink scalloped circle topped with green spotted paper. I added a punched border to the inside of the card with 'happy birthday' cut from more pink sparkle card.
A small net butterfly adhered to the no 5 and gems adhered to the centres of the floral trim finishes the card.
Carts used:
Scalloped circle, plain circle, 'Chelsea' & '5'- Winter Woodland

Hello!........

I've been playing with a new cart and boy is it GORGEOUS! If you have and love Summer In Paris you'll LOVE this one even more! It's full of beautiful images which have a scrolly element and a plain element to each cut so that you can make femine or masculine cards from the same cut, or combine them as I've done here. I used a different layout for this, cutting the front of the card off by about 3" and adding a panel to hold the image. I used Papermania papers and an MS punch to decorate both the back and the front of the card. I cut the retro phone from white glitter card with a pink mirri card blackout portion behind it so that the scrolled design is highlighted. I added some definition to the cord with a dressmaker's wheel. I also cut 'Hello' from white glitter card and pink mirri, adhering it below the phone and above the bow on the pale pink panel. I added some flowers and leaves and decorated the inside of the card with a white sentiment panel and another phone cut with the 'border' setting, from more pink mirri. Some card candy completes the card.

The Perfect Pair........

Hi all! Hope you are all enjoying the weekend! As this is wedding season I thought that I'd conjour up a wedding card. I got the idea from Becca Fekken's blog Amazing Paper Grace (on my sidebar)- she made her shoes from templates- I used the Bug! I used some lovely pearlised paper from a pad (Anna Griffin, I think) some plain, some embossed and some patterned. I used a simple layout with the sentiment oval at the centre of the card. I cut the bride's shoe & sentiment from white glittercard and the groom's shoe from black & gunmetal mirri card. I pierced some holes in the groom's shoe and threaded black embroidery thread through them with a needle, fastening the loose ends at the back of the shoe. I then made a bow from more thread and adhered it with a spot of PVA. I added satin ribbon, a lovely camelia , some mini roses, leaves
and 3 pearl strands. I added more pearls to the top 2 corners of the purple panel. I added more paper, a punched border inside along with another scalloped oval to hold your handwritten or stamped sentiment and 3 small punched hearts.
Carts used:
Shoes & sentiment- Sweethearts
Scalloped ovals- Storybook
Plain ovals- George
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and thanks for looking!

Fore!........

Here's a couple of cards for budding Tiger (Tigress!) Woods'. Again, they are made in exactly the same way as the previous 'ball sport' cards that I've posted. I used Bo-Bunny & DCWV papers. I think that my favourite of the two cards is the ladies one..I especially like the way she appears to be preparing to hit the ball on the 'I love Golf' stop. I added the tee below the ball for effect. The sentiments on these cards could be changed for 'Good Luck', 'Well Done' etc for the competition golfers in your life!

Dream.....

To be quite honest there's not a whole lot of anything Buggy going on on this card, but I had an idea based on the Tim Holtz Bingo card embossing folder, and a vintage image and thought that the sentiment fitted it perfectly. That bingo card was made with card from the old Paper Mill boxes which are no longer in use (they've gone back to their old, much missed, full ream boxes! Yaay!), so don't throw them away..they are like Kraft cardstock and it embosses bee-a-ootifully! I used vintage look papers, a vintage photo image, Prima-style flowers that I made myself using a punch/emboss system and a hat pin. I cut 'dream' from cream cardstock and glittered it lightly after adhereing it to the card. I added a sage green ribbon and bow adding the hat pin before I adhered it to the card. When using hat pins I always put a silver bugle bead on the end to prevent puncture accidents! A scattering of pearls and a punched border and another flower inside the card are the finishing touches.

Anyone for tennis?....

Here's a couple more topical sport cards..this time tennis. Again I made one for gals and one for the guys. The cards were made in exactly the same way as yesterday's cards. I used double-sided Bo-Bunny papers, using the reverse side for the bottom portion of the card. I added a silver mirri tennis racquet to the gal's card and I also flipped the guy. These cards are best done in a minimal palette with splashes of black.
Carts used:
Card bases- Wild Card (Circular card with blackout enabled)
Happy Birthday- Stamping Solutions
All other cuts- Sports Mania
Hope you've all recovered from yesterday's trouncing!
SACK THE LOT OF THEM I SAY!!!!
