First Swarm project.

We held our first Swarm last Saturday and it was a great success..thanks to all the ladies who came and extra special thanks to Jennie (The Boss!) who stayed and helped. We will definately be doing it again! This is the project that each of the ladies were given to either make at the Swarm or take home. It's a little wall hanging (although one lady decided to put hers on the front of a card (nice one Angie!) I'm all for people taking an idea and running with it...if it turns out very different to the original..great!!! I used just 2 carts for this one. I cut the larger shape in white card and gold card which were adhered together (the white card adds stability) then cut the same shape 1/2" smaller in patterned paper and adhered it to the gold card. The sleigh was cut from gold then red card (the runners were cut from the red portion), and the decorative swirl was the shift section of the sleigh. They were adhered together then a gold bow & poinsetta added. The 'Season's Greetings' was cut from red card with a gold shadow then adhered above the sleigh. Two holes were punched in the top of the shape with a Cropodile then gold cord was threaded through from the front & knotted at the back. For any of the ladies who for one reason or another couldn't attend the Swarm there are some packs still available at Jendenink to buy.
Carts used:
Lozenge shape- Accent Essentials
Sleigh & sentiment- Christmas (Noel) Solutions
Thanks for looking...and thanks again to all the ladies who attended- you made it a great day!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Holli!

It is my great-niece Holli's first birthday on Monday and this is the card that I made for her. It's an easel card again! I used Provocraft paper (floral) and some scrap checked paper from my stash. I matted & layered onto pale pink/mid pink Bazzill. I used pink glitter card for the frame, high chair image, name, number & 'today'. I added pink satin ribbon, a white paper rose & daisies punched from white glitter card and enhanced with a gem. The white panel behind the image & the mount for the '1' were Cuttlebugged.
Carts used:
High chair image- A Child's Year
Holli, Today & scalloped oval frame - Ashlyn's Alphabet

If you've got them can you be sure to bring Accent Essentials & Christmas (Noel) Solutions.. don't worry if you don't have either of the carts..we'll have a couple to loan out. From The Heart....

The papers used on this card are new ones from Papermania. The colours are lovely (pink, chocolate, duck egg blue, aubergine) and the paper has a linen texture to it. The paper I used has birdcages on it, and I teamed it with chocolate polka dots. The contrasting cardstock is Gemstones which I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder. I cut out the scalloped border using the 'Fit To Length' feature and the frame was cut from the same cardstock & shadowed with polka dot paper. I cut out the leaves from Gemstones. I added brown satin ribbon, flowers & pearls and the sentiments cut from polka dot paper & shadowed with the Gemstones cardstock.
Carts used:
Scalloped border, frame & leaves- Accent Essentials
Sentiment- Stamping Solutions

Three ladies dancing....

This is a card that I made as a commission for a very sweet lady who comes to us for her special cards. This one is for her daughter who has just opened a ballet school in Germany where she lives. I used ballet themed paper (K & Co I think)
for the front of the card, and I made a mirror from (funnily enough!) Mirri card. I added a barre with brads and three dancers wearing pink glitter-enhanced tutus. I gave each dancer a different colour of hair and they all have pearl earrings. I added the requested sentiments on scalloped ovals. I finished the card off with voile bows and a pair of ballet shoes cut from more of the ballet themed pad (added after the photo was taken). A verse was put inside which was composed by the customer herself (not shown for obvious reasons!)
Carts used:
Dancers- Joys Of The Season
Smaller scalloped oval- Storybook
White ovals- George
Larger scalloped oval hand cut with scalloped scissors

Happy 70th, Mum!

It was my lovely Mum's 70th birthday yesterday (her first without my Dad) and we threw her a surprise party on Saturday. Emotions were running high, as you can imagine, but she came through and thoroughly enjoyed it, as did we all. I must thank my bro Nick, my lovely SIL Lisa & my niece Lauren for arranging it all!! Well done guys!!! This is the card that I made for her (sorry the lighting is a bit off!...and I took the photo in a hurry!) This is my first attempt at an easel card. How easy are they to make?!! I shall certainly be making some more! Sorry peeps...another obsession coming on!! I used Basic Grey paper to cover the front of the card and a piece of the same paper to trim the bottom of the base part of the card. I used two colours of Bazzill cardstock for matting & layering. I added satin ribbon to the front of the card along with '70' cut from a contrast paper and shadowed with pink Bazzill. The numbers were decorated with layered flowers & pearls, then glittered. As a stop I cut a scalloped circle which was also a base for the 'with love...' sentiment. I cut 'Mum' from pink Bazzill and shadowed it with green. As a finishing touch I used the waste flowers from the punched piece to decorate the green Bazzill panel.
Carts used:
'70' & scalloped circles- Winter Woodland
Mum- Beyond Birthdays
Sentiment Circle- George
Thanks for dropping by today!!

Love you....

I saw a card made with this cut whilst blog hopping a while back and really liked it so I thought that I'd give it a go! I cut three of the wreath shapes..1 in blackout (with FLIP function enabled)..1 in white textured card.. 1 in pearlised card. I cut away the bottom half of the pearlised card and passed the remainder through the Cuttlebug. This was adhered to the white textured portion. The 'hole' in the card front was covered with lovely pearlised & printed handmade paper (it has a fabric look & feel to it) from The Works. I decorated the top portion of the card with blue flowers, leaves, ribbon & gems. I added gems to the 'ring' portion and added a 'Love You' sentiment cut from blue glitter paper with a pearlised paper shadow. I added 'forever & ever' to the inside.
Carts used:
Card base- Storybook

Vintage Christmas

Isn't this image just gorgeous! I downloaded it from Google images (just typed in vintage christmas images) then I blinged it up with a Xyron machine, some Glamour Dust (just LOVE that stuff!) & some red Stickles on the berries on her headress. I used a gatefold card, and papers from Papermania matted onto gold card. I matted the image onto red card and then added it to a scalloped frame trimmed with gold ribbon on the diagonal and a small poinsetta. Gold ribbon and red gems were added to the panels on the front of the card and a shaped panel and sentiment added to the inside.
Carts used:
Scalloped rectangular frame- A Child's Year
Shaped panel- Story Book
Happy Christmas- Christmas (Noel) Solutions
