Giddy-up!

Here's a very simple card for a little boy (or girl if you change the colours & sentiment inside!) The layout is very simple using papers from MME Magnolia collection. The plain card panels were edged with Fiskars Threading Water (????!!!) punch. I added ribbon but unusually for me NO flowers- well, I suppose a boy card can do without flowers! I cut out the little boy on the old-fashioned rocking horse (does anyone remember the film Mandy with Mandy Miller?- there was a very chilling scene in that with a rocking horse like this one!) adhered it to the white panel with foam pads & added 'giddy-up!' underneath. I decorated the inside as shown.

Laugh often!!!

.It was only after I had uploaded the photo of this card that I realised that there was something missing from it. What is it you may ask? Well, I'll tell ya!- THERE'S NO BLUMMIN' GLITTER ON IT!!!!! What was I thinking of?!!!!!I used paper from the My Mind's Eye Magnolia stack. I added faux stitching around the panels made with a dressmaker's wheel & a white gel pen. A square panel matted onto orange cardstock was adhered with foam pads and the sentiment applied flat. A satin ribbon & bow, a layered flower and spotted brads finish the front of the card. I decorated the inside too.

Floral Birthday

I was asked by some colleagues of my DH to make a card for a fellow worker who is 50 this week. The brief was gardening. I decided to go with a 'plant in a flowerpot' This card is UBER big! It's A4 in size (11 x 8 1/2"). I used a check & polka dot mix of papers and hand cut a flowerpot from Kraft Cardstock (actually boxes from The Paper Mill!) I tied a sheer ribbon bow around the flowerpot and added a safmat greeting beneath it. The flowerpot was added to the card with foam pads. I cut out the recipient's name & age from glitter card and added the name above the flowerpot and the age on the flowerpot. I used 5 large blooms (from a hawaiin lei from a £ shop) and layered them up with primas and glittered brads. I added some leaves from my stash to finish.

Somethin' for the boys!!!

Yet another of No1 son's friends had a birthday last week and this is the card that I made for him. I have a couple of standards for male & female friends so that I can reel them off PDQ!!! This card was made, primarily, with downloadables from Madaboutcards. I printed off a booze inspired backing paper, and some party images onto photopaper. I covered the front of the card with the paper which was matted onto blue & red paper. The images were matted in the same way. I arranged them on the front of the card with the bottle & tankard adhered flat & the party people adhered with foam pads. I cut an image to fit the top of a bottle cap ( from Wilkinson's Home Brew Dept!) and adhered that with a thick foam pad. I cut out the ''CHEERS ANDY!'' from red card and raised the letters with foam pads. I decorated the inside of the card too. I added a little glitz to the letters with Jo Sonja's Opal Dust, a FAB glitter glue that has tiny glitter discs in it! Click on the picture to see it in more detail.

The Bride & Groom

Sorry folks if you're getting bored with this style of card, but it's just such an easy layout to use and as you can see very versatile. This time I made a wedding card. I used papers from a CD that came free with Papercraft Essentials. The card was covered with a lovely pink rose patterned paper with a piece of polka paper as accent. The large pink panel has lovely sentiments on it. I added some sheer white ribbon, a layered flower and some silver entwined hearts. Three flower shaped pearl buttons were adhered above the pink panel. I cut all the sentiments from silver paper and adhered them flat. I border punched a strip of the script paper to decorate the inside of the card.

30th Anniversary

Here's another card made with the layout I used in previous posts, this time for a 30th Anniversary card. I used paper from My Mind's Eye Magnolia Collection. I used a lovely blue & chocolate combo for this one with chocolate accents. I used glitter paper for the numerals and cut the sentiment from brown cardstock and glittered it after it was adhered to the card front.

T 4 2 - Something different!

I don't normally make shaped cards, but this little teapot was TOO CUTE to ignore!
I cut it from white card then covered the front with polka dot embossed paper then trimmed away the excess. I drew around the teapot onto this rose paper and cut out a teapot body. Using the same method I cut out a separate lid and little knob for the top. I adhered the pieces into place & then ran around the edges with a dressmaker's wheel. I cut out a tag, along with the sentiment from the same rose patterned paper. I cut the pink shadow on the letters by hand. I decorated the tag with a couple of paper roses and tied it to the 'lid' with some pink voile ribbon. I trimmed the tag with a bow. The tag swings freely. I added the sentiment 'fancy a cuppa?' to the inside.
Carts used:
Teapot card- A Child's Year (card was cut from a piece of A4 card after determining papersize and pressing 'cut to fit'. This card is actually a tag!)
Scalloped tag- A Child's Year
