For my sister

It's my birthday on Sunday, and my sister Valerie's on Monday (how's that for timing?!) and this is the card that I made for her. I used a larger image from the Dovecraft pack, and mounted it onto a panel made from free paper from Papercraft Inspirations. I mounted the polka dot panel onto white cardstock and then again onto blue. I added a white scalloped edged strip with ribbon and flower trim. The image was adhered over this panel with foam pads. I cut out 'Valerie' from yellow paper and card and stuck them together. They were then adhered with foam pads. Happy Birthday is computer generated onto Safmat. I added some little yellow pearls to finish. Inside the card says 'Have fun!'

A card for Kat!

Here is (yet) another doiley card, this time for a schoolmate of my No2 son. I used those lovely image papers again from Dovecraft. I cut out the shopper gal and stuck her onto a piece of white card then cut around her leaving a border. The card was cut at 6 1/4", and the inside front covered in lilac card & trimmed by hand. I cut a circle to fit the front of the card and covered it with 2 designs of paper, then added ribbon and a layered flower. I cut a pink shadow and adhered the patterned circle to it with foam pads. A scalloped oval with white oval and lilac shadow was used as a mount for the shopper gal, again adhered with foam pads. 'KAT' was cut from purple glitter paper and white card, stuck together and then raised on foam pads. 3 purple gems were added to the space beneath the flower. I added '16 today!' cut from purple glitter paper to the inside.

Cheers!

Here's a smaller version of my hubby's Father's Day card. I cut out and made up the pineapple cocktail image and adhered it with foam tape to a piece of white textured cardstock. This was matted onto orange cardstock and adhered flat onto a piece of patterned paper which in turn was matted onto a piece of orange cardstock with a scalloped punched edge. The whole piece was then adhered with foam tape to the front of the card which had been covered with green dotty paper. A ribbon trim & layered flower along with the 'Cheers!' sentiment finish the card.

Put you teeny bikini on!

How's this for a summery card! Just the kind of invitation you need what with the glorious weather we've had just lately- mind you it's chuckin' it down at this precise moment! I layered up a piece of Doodlebug embossed cardstock with some bright papers from DCWV and added a scalloped circle. I cut out the little bikini from polka dot paper and adhered it to another one cut from card to give it rigidity. This was then adhered to the scalloped circle with foam pads. Teeny Bikini was cut from patterned paper and also adhered with foam pads. I added a layered flower and some rub-ons to finish. I added 'and have fun!' to the inside

Sweet Sixteen!

Here's another doiley card made with free papers from Cardmaking & Papercraft magazine. I cut the doiley card and covered the back of the front of the card with red paper then trimmed it to fit. I cut a circle of white card, covered the front with 2 designs of paper, covering the join with red stitched ribbon & a bow. I then mounted this onto a red card circle. The panel was adhered to the card front with foam pads. 'Sweet' was cut from red card then glittered, and the '16' was cut from red polka dot paper & card. These were also added with foam pads. To finish I added 3 red heart-shaped buttons. The 'thread' in the butttons is actually tiny slivers of paper threaded through the holes and adhered at the back with a glue dot.

Happy Birthday Chelsea!

It's my great-niece Chelsea's 4th Birthday on Monday and this is the card that I made for her. I cut out the doiley card, covered the back of the card with pink card & trimmed it by hand. I cut a circle of card slightly smaller than the front of the card and covered it with two different papers, scalloping the edge of the bottom portion with a Fiskars punch. I threaded voile ribbon through the holes and added a bow with a layered flower. I blinged it up with some gems and glitter and added the name using glittered card stock. I punched 2 small and 1 medium heart and added them with foam pads under the name. The inside was decorated with a piece of scenic paper and glittery sentiment.

Champagne Celebration!

This card was for a commission, and the brief was Champagne and NO pink! I decided to use this fab champers bottle tri-fold card which fits the bill I think! I cut the card out at 6 1/4" to fit a C5 envelope. Although it looks green the bottle is actually the same colour as the letters & numbers! It's cobalt blue mirri card and I love it! I traced around the bottle onto the blue mirri and cut it out & adhered it to the bottle on the card. I cut out the trimmings in silver mirri. I added '1959' to the bottle label and a layered flower and ribbon trim. 'JO' & '50' are cut from blue glitter card and adhered with foam pads. The happy birthday is cut from blue mirri and adhered flat. I added a personal insert to finish. I am assured that the customer was thrilled with it!
