Hi Friend!

I made this card using a layout from Moralia's Weblog. Her card is made with clear cardstock but I decided to make mine with the regular stuff!
It's very simple, just panels attached together and mounted onto textured cardstock which has been matted onto green card. I added faux stitching with my trusty dressmaker's wheel and a white gel pen (click on the picture to see it in more detail) I added ribbon, flowers, rub-on sentiment and 'hi' cut from card and paper and raised on foam pads. Bling finishes the card off.

Father's Day pt 2

This is the card that I made for hubby from the boys and it's huge!!! It's A4 size and I had a blast making it! I used rainbow paper from The Works mounted onto lime green card. I cut out and paper-pieced the pineapple cocktail, all the pieces of which were chalked to give definition. It was adhered to the card front with foam pads.. The letters were cut and chalked and also adhered with foam pad strips. I added a hint of glitter for a really summery look. Cheers!

Father's Day Pt 1

These are cards that I made for my Dad from hubby & me and from the boys. My dear Dad is in hospital in Stoke-On-Trent and having a miserable time of it. We arranged a visit out of hospital to my brother's house close by, bundled him up warmly and drove him away. He cheered up no end due to the fresh air and change of scenery (he's been in hospital for almost a month now) and it did him the world of good to spend his special day with his family around him instead of 2 at a time! God willing he may come home next week. Anyway onto the cards. The shed was from me & hubby. I used a script paper with fatherly words on it and some cartoon sky paper from DCWV. I cut out the shed and paper pieced it, adding grass, flowers , a fence and a shiny watering can. I have had those gardening implement embellies for ages and this card was an ideal opportunity to use them
The other card was from the boys. I cut out the beach-chair and umbrella, mounted them onto a base of cloud paper and hand-made paper sand, and added 'GRANDAD' with dome stickers. I wanted to fill the space at the top of the card so I inserted two eyelets threaded with yellow raffia and added a shell charm with a jump-ring.

Birthday Duo

I made these cards for my nephew's fiancee (Sarah) and a friend of my youngest's,Alice.
I have used this layout before and it's good if you are in a rush! I stuck the characters onto card and then cut them out leaving a border. They were then mounted with foam pads onto scalloped ovals and adhered over a strip of paper mounted onto card and edged with a Fiskars border punch. A ribbon trim, folded, layered flower, bling & the recipient's name finish the card.

Leaving?

Remember the words of the song- Im leavin' on a jet 'plane, don't know when I'll be back again... well I thought that this little 'plane would suit a leaving card down to the ground (??!!) I used paper from the DCWV Glitter Spring Stack and cut out a 'plane from silver mirri. I cut out a globe using green check paper and blue card, then layered them up. I cut out the sentiment and added 6 silver candy dots. A smaller 'plane & green check paper decorate the inside.

'Plane & globe- Going Places
Sentiments- Lyrical Letters (Jumbo font!)

Thank You Teacher pt 2

Well, it's Krishnan's final day at school today and these are the cards that I made for his male teachers. He wanted these cards to be in the school colours of black, red & gold so I obliged. Each card echoes the subject that is taught by a particular teacher, from l to r, English (the teacher LOVES Anthony & Cleopatra hence the spynx!)-a book, History- a clock for times past, Economics- pound, euro & dollar signs and Maths- a compass. I made a base for each card of black card matted onto mirri with a gold strip edged with a Fiskars border punch topped by a strip of red card. I then added panels of script paper, the sentiment, adhered the embellishments with foam tape and finally, some gold candy dots. I have left the insides blank for Krishnan's message.
Carts used:
Sentiments- Opposites Attract & Calligraphy
Clock- Graphically Speaking
Monetary signs- Wild Card
Book & Compass- Locker Talk

Thank You Teacher pt 1

My eldest son Krishnan has his final day at school tomorrow and he wanted some cards for his teachers. I ended up making 8 DL cards, 4 ladies & 4 men cards-these are the ladies cards. I basically used the same layout but varied the papers, colours and flowers. I left the insides blank so that Krishnan can write his own message to these special people. I shall post pt 2 -the male cards-tomorrow.
