An elephant never forgets!

This card was soooooo simple to make-there is hardly anything to it! I lurv this little elephant and wanted to use it- not on a baby card, but on a birthday card. The elephant was cut 4 times, 3 in card & 1 in paper and then all adhered together. I scuffed the edges with a sanding block and went around them with a dressmakers wheel. A little flower in her ear, a bow on her trunk and a googly eye complete her. I love the way her ear pops out of her body! I mounted her onto a panel decorated with a ribbon bow, added the sentiment & a little bling. Simple!
Carts used:
Elephant- Zooballo (the elephant is cut along with a giraffe- just stop the machine when the elephant is cut)

Happy Birthday Karen!

This is the card that I made for my SIL Karen for her birthday last week. I went kind of vintage with this one, using Papermania paper. I used 3 different papers, some lovely burgundy velvet ribbon, cotton lace, pearls and a flower embellished pleated circle. A Laura Ashley brad in the centre of the flower and a dragonfly charm complete the card.

Roll up!!! Roll up!!!

Here's a fun card for a little one, with a circus theme. I used the DCWV All Boy stack and the same layout as the ZOOM card. I used some corrugated card as a small panel to hold a ready-made embellie, a cute little lion from The Paper Mill. I added some ribbon and a couple of stars with candy dot centres and I used the small check paper for the sentiments.

Fishy Birthday Fun!

I made this card yesterday with the new Life Is A Beach cart, it's for a friend of my youngest who loves fish! I don't often use the card feature where it is available but this card fitted the bill and I thought I'd give it go. It get's a bit complicated when you want to add layers- you have to do a few cuts to get the right fit- but it's worth it! I cut the card at 6 1/2" and the layered fish at 4 1/2". I used irridescent paper in 3 colours and just swapped the pieces around for each fish. I glittered the bubbles and added googly eyes to the fish. I cut out a frame from water effect paper and edged it with wavy scissors. I cut the sentiment and went around each letter with a dressmakers wheel, then adhered each letter with foam pads. A piece of blue vellum covers the aperture from behind (I covered the raw edges with silver peel-of borders to neaten) A square of water paper matted on silver and the recipient's name (it's actually Lazarus!) complete the card!

That's the wonder of (ex)Woolies!!

Just lookee at what I picked up yesterday from our ex-Woolies store , now an 'everything for 99p or less!' store. I was waiting for my son in Gosport yesterday and thought I'd pop in and have a gander. I didn't pick up a basket 'cos I didn't really want anything. Then I saw a crafty looking stand and, no kiddin', I was like an Exocet missile going back to the door to pick up a basket! I picked up this little lot for just over £11!!! See those paper roses? They are normally about £5! So if you want a bargain head down to your local 99p store NOW!!! Click on the photo for a better look!
Happy crafting!

Surf's Up, Dude!

With the fab weather we've been having lately I thought I'd show you a very summery card especially for the blokes! I used this super duper paper covered with beach inspired words and a contrast paper. I also had some paper covered with surf boards from which I cut one board and stuck it to a piece of card to give it added rigidity, then cut it out. I added a piece of knotted raffia (not too girly??) and some candy dots. Finally, a suitable surfing sentiment- done!! Cowabunga!!!

Off to the woods!

I loved this paper when I saw it but I have had it for ages and only just got down to cutting into it! The layout is simple just a piece of dark cardstock adhered to the card and a smaller panel of patterned paper, opposing corners rounded, applied on top with foam tape. The patterned panel was decorated with felt trim from Papermania & candy dots in green & orange. I cut out a moose and mounted it onto a square of cream cardstock and also a circular embellishment that reads 'fresh air'. The card front sentiment was adhered with foam pads. I decorated the inside too.
