Butterfly Kisses

Happy Bank Holiday everyone! Now, I'm not overly fond of butterflies as an embellishment on a card but when I saw this paper from the DCWV Spring Stack, it was so brightly coloured that I thought I'd have a go with it! I used this very simple layout that I've used before using 2 designs of paper matted & layered on top of a panel of Doodlebug embossed paper. I cut & glittered a scalloped oval frame and added a layered flower with ribbon bow and a Papermania velvet brad in the middle. I wanted to add something else to the frame so I cut out 2 butterflies from scrap patterned paper, creased them down the middle & arranged them either side of the flower. I added 3 gems to the top right-hand corner of the white panel and some glitter to the edge of the butterflies wings. I added a sentiment & decorative strip to the inside.

And now for something completely different!

Well, for me anyway! I don't think that I have but a 3D project on my blog as yet so it's a first! Lauren designed this little bag over on her blog (she's made tons and they are ALL gorgeous!) but me being me decided to try & copy it myself rather than download a template. So armed with a picture, some paper & a pencil I set to work. It took a couple of tries but I did it and this is the end result! A decent copy I think!
Thanks, Lauren ,for the inspiration!

So Precious.

The layout and sentiment for this card is almost a CASE of a card that I saw whilst blog hopping, but I've tweaked it about a bit. I used Blueberry Hill paper again and added a punched border strip across the middle. The large panel is adorned with a crochet flower and a gorgeous vintage-style epoxy sticker bought from Target in Sydney. The precious plaque was cut from white card, run through the Xyron and glittered with glamour dust. A ribbon bow, pink pearls & inside sentiment finish off the card.

Precious in His sight

When I saw this paper which is covered in little phrases suitable for either birth or baptism I wanted to team it with this fab cross, which I have used so much,to make a baptism card. I think that this would be suitable for an adult or older child to celebrate their day. You could also use it for a confirmation or maybe even for someone entering the priesthood or becoming a nun. There are several colours on it included a light brown that does not exclude it from being used for guy cards too! I didn't want to cover too much of the paper because the words are so nice so I kept the embellishment quite small. I just cut out a plaque, added the sentiment and decorated it with the cross and some layered flowers & handcut leaves.I backed the heart with some gossamer paper and added some bling.

Pink Wild Card Wedding!

Here is another of the Wild Card Wedding cards but with the addition of pink! It was made in exactly the same way as the last wedding card but I used pink paper behind the swirly aperture (paper from The Works) and some Cricut generated butterflies this time (StoryBook). Instead of a printed insert I cut
'the Bride & Groom' from silver paper and added it behind the 'window'

Birdy Birthday!

Isn't this paper just gorgeous?! When I saw it I just had to have it! It's a very pretty peachy pink colour with soft green accents and lots of antique birdcages, butterflies & birdies! I found this layout whilst blog hopping and tweaked it a little. I used dotty paper to cover the card front & cut 2 panels with the birdcage paper. I added satin ribbon a layered flower and some bling. I made a chipboard bird by cutting 3 shapes (2 in card & 1 in paper) stuck them together then sanded the edges for a distressed feel. A panel of Bazzil swiss dots paper holds the sentiment & the chipboard bird. As usual I decorated the inside too!

If friends were flowers.....

Blue is not a colour that I use very often for cards (except for baby cards of course) so this lovely paper from Dovecraft really caught my eye, and when teamed with yellow it made for a really summery combo! The colour is much more vibrant in real life. I covered the front of the card with the blue daisy print paper and added a band of yellow paper across the middle with ribbon & knot trim. I cut out a frame from pearlised card, backed with another paper with white 'stitched' flowers on it. The frame was raised on foam pads. Layered flowers, blue pearls and inside sentiment & decoration complete the card. Oh, I also glittered the outside sentiment & the centres of the daisies!
