Belle Birthday

It was our neighbour's daughter Sophie's birthday yesterday and this is the card that I made for her. I used the same rainbow paper for the front as that on yesterday's card only this time I layered it onto yellow sparkly paper & black card. I trimmed the corner with printed ribbon and and a layered flower. I added the Belle cut out & a rose which are both raised on foam pads. I added three yellow Papermania gems below the name. I added the sentiment inside cut from the same font from pink card. Both of the rose heads are glittered.
Carts used:

Can he fix it? Yes he can!!!!!

It was our neighbour's little boy's birthday yesterday and this is the card that I made for him. I used some Bob The Builder wrapping paper for the decoupaged image and some ready made embellies that I've had hanging around for ages. I used some corrugated card for the panel across the centre of the card which was matted onto some red card then trimmed with wavy scissors. I attached some tape measure twill to a piece of green card and layered that onto the blue panel. I added Bob and some of the embellies, then I used the rest to decorate the inside of the card. Do you see that rainbow paper on the front of the card? I got a pad of 24 sheets A4 size, 100gsm from The Works for just £1. When you can't find patterned paper that 'goes' this paper seems to do the job. You will see it again soon! I cut out the sentiment in alternate colours and stuck the pieces in place.

Inside & outside sentiments: Lyrical Letters (Jack Sprat alphabet)

Airborne Birthday

It is our nephew Skanda's birthday on Friday. He lives in Sydney, Australia. I posted this card last Saturday morning and I received an e-mail from him today thanking me for it!! WOW!!! That's got to be a record- 6 days!!! What a service!!! Skanda is taking flying lessons, so when I saw these embellies I thought that they would be ideal for his card. I used paper from an old DCWV stack- it has both blue & stormy sky so I used both! I mounted the large plane onto a piece of sky paper and matted & layered it with silver mirri & navy card. I also mounted a smaller image but this time omitting the sky paper.Doesn't the plane look realistic on that paper?!!!. I cut about 4cms from the front of the card, then covered the front with blue sky and the inside back with stormy sky. The smaller image is on the inside back of the card. I cut out Skanda's name & age from Crafttime navy glitter paper and a shadow in silver mirri. I then arranged the elements & stuck it all into place. I added 'happy birthday' in the same glitter paper to the inside of the card. I think for male cards the simpler the better although for a gal who LOVES ribbon, flowers & bling it can be hard to restrain oneself!!!!
Cart used:
Name & age- Opposites Attract (Opposite/Opposite shadow)
Happy Birthday (inside not shown)-Wild Card
Thanks for looking!

p.s in case you are wondering Skanda's mum & dad are Indian-they are my hubby's youngest sister & BIL.

Sweetheart...A new cartridge & a warning!

I took possession of this little beauty last week! It isn't available over here yet-so being impatient I ordered it from Hallmark Scrapbook in the States as it was due for release over there mid to late March. I have ordered carts from Hallmark before and they have been delivered to my door no problem. This time however I had to collect it from the local Parcel Force office where I had to pay £6 VAT & £8 handl;ing charge (£8 quid!!!) before they would give it to me! I was spittin' I can tell you because I've never had to pay VAT on stuff ordered from the States before. The very nice man at the depot told me that they had doubled the size of their holding room in anticipation of more items coming from abroad requiring VAT to be paid (although he did say that they do it on a 'random' basis). So ladies, just bear that in mind if you order stuff from overseas. I've got 2 more carts to come from Hallmark in June so it will be interesting to see if I have to pay extra for those too!
Anyhow, back to the card. I borrowed the layout from another blog and added a few little extras. I used paper from the glitter stack & Sweet pad from DCWV. I added a ribbon bow, gems and flowers with ribbon flowers at the centres. I glittered the sentiments inside & out.
Carts used:
Shaped rectangular panel- StoryBook
Oval & shadow- George
Sentiments & filigree edge heart- Lyrical Letters
Hope you like it & thanks for looking!

Not feeling well?

Here's a whimsical little get well card that should raise a smile! I used paper from DCWV and bazzill cardstock. I cut out the bug, gave him some googly eyes & a downturned mouth which made him look distinctly unwell! I added a ribbon, some layered flowers with gem centres & the sentiment which I embellished with some faux stitching in white gel pen.
Carts used:
Bug- Doodlecharms
Scalloped circle- Graphically Speaking
Blue circle- George
Sentiment- Don Juan ('BUG' cut in 'under pressure' mode)

Gardening Grandad!

Hi all! Hope you are enjoying the long weekend! It's beautiful down here near Portsmouth today, warm & sunny, so I've managed to get outside & do some gardening. 3 lawns to cut, weeds to kill & trimming back of unruly shrubs, and now the garden looks lovely bathed in the afternoon sun! Roll on summer! With gardening in mind, here's a card for a gardening grandad (or granny-just change the sentiment & colours!) I've had this gardening themed paper for yonks and this was the perfect card to use it on. I added a panel of green checked paper onto which I adhered a piece of leaf-effect ribbon. I cut out a circle which I decorated with 'grass' & teeny flowers. I added a sign with a safmat sentiment, a gorgeous watering can which I enhanced with tiny perforations made with a dressmakers wheel, and of course the sentiment.
Carts used:
Circle & shadow- George
Sign- George
Sentiment- Don Juan
Watering can- Disney's Happily Ever After
Grass- Plantin Schoolbook

Birthday Blessings

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you are not feasting too much on choccie!! This card is made with papers from the spring stack. It's in shades of salmon pink and is sooooo purdy!!!! I added two panels in a 1/3rd-2/3rd ration and covered the join with a strip of dotty bazill cut with scalloped scissors. I cut the large scallop on the bug and then added a large layered flower pierced with a home made pin (hat pins & beads from the local haberdashery) and a glazed brad for the centre & a ribbon bow. Smaller flowers with pearl centres were added above the horizontal panel. The sentiment was cut in white bazill dotty (with a salmon coloured shadow) & the bottom of each letter was coloured with a whispers pen in very pale pink. I then glittered to finish!
Carts used:
Large scalloped edging-Plantin Schoolbook
Sentiment- George
Thanks for looking & have a lovely day!
