Birthday Blessings

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you are not feasting too much on choccie!! This card is made with papers from the spring stack. It's in shades of salmon pink and is sooooo purdy!!!! I added two panels in a 1/3rd-2/3rd ration and covered the join with a strip of dotty bazill cut with scalloped scissors. I cut the large scallop on the bug and then added a large layered flower pierced with a home made pin (hat pins & beads from the local haberdashery) and a glazed brad for the centre & a ribbon bow. Smaller flowers with pearl centres were added above the horizontal panel. The sentiment was cut in white bazill dotty (with a salmon coloured shadow) & the bottom of each letter was coloured with a whispers pen in very pale pink. I then glittered to finish!

For the happy couple!

Seeing as we are fast approaching the wedding season I thought that I would make a start on some wedding cards. This one is made with paper from the DCWV Spring stack and is in shades of pink and pale green. I added some punched borders, satin ribbon & layered flowers. The frame around the bride & groom was decorated with self-adhesive pearls, as are the centres of the flowers & the top left of the centre panel. The bride & groom are cut from silver mirri and I added spotty glittered vellum behind the bride's dress & veil. Again I decorated the inside of the card, the sentiment being cut from silver mirri.

Happy 18th, John!!!

This is yet another card for one my eldest's friends. This poor boy is one of the last to turn 18 in his year and all of his friends have been out on the razz for a few months (not EVERY night!!!) and have had to leave him at home! He finally turned 18 last week so they took him out into Portsmouth and had a whale of a time! I made this card using papers and images from Madaboutcards. I printed the images onto photopaper-they are firmer and have a better look than if they were printed onto paper. I used dark brown card to mat the papers & images and then added the sentiment which was decorated with white gel-pen dots. As you can see I also decorated the inside.

Well Done Rhea!!

We had a phone call last night from our very good friends in Wales to tell us that their youngest daughter Rhea had just passed her finals and is now a fully qualified doctor!! Well done Rhea! We are so proud of you!! Her elder sister Menai will qualify later on in June. I made this card this morning and it has not ended up at all as I imagined but I'm beyond thrilled with it! I cut out a stethescope & a clipboard-the stethescope was pieced with silver & grey mirri card & orange sparkle card. I added a layered flower, some ribbon & a little tag that says Rhea's name.I added a piece of ruled paper from a K&Co pad to the clipboard and the sentiment inside & out, are rubons. The spotty paper is from the spring stack (again!!) I also decorated the inside of the card with a stethescope frame & a strip of the dotty paper matted onto beige cardstock. I'll be sending this off tomorrow so I hope she likes it!!

Another card from the Spring Stack and I've still got TONS left!!! This one was based on a card I saw whilst blog-hopping. I covered the card with 2 patterned papers in a 1/3rd & 2/3rds ratio. I then cut a panel for the front with a shadow. I added an oval with a scalloped shadow, some layered flowers with pearl brad centres and lovely swirl printed cobalt blue ribbon. Coloured self-adhesive pearls finish off the corners.

Kiddie's Birthday!

I need lots of kiddie's birthday cards because both of my neighbours have little ones- 3 girlies, Sophie, Millie & Amy on one side & three little fellas , Aneurin (Nye), Louie & Bryn on the other! These cards are essentially the same but one is girly and the other for a boy. I chose a random number & cut it out twice- once in card and again in patterned paper. I stuck the paper number to the card one, doing this gives the number more rigidity & feels like chipboard. I then covered the card inside & out and made a panel for the font. The numbers were adhered with foam pads and decorated with flowers on the girly card & a cute little owl on the boy card. The papers are from DCWV Spring Stack. I added ribbon & tiny butterflies (ric-rac & a button for the boy's card) & gave the little owl some googly eyes! Gotta love them, they add character!

Pretty Lady

When I saw this cute hand-mirror I knew that I wanted to use it! I cut it from pearlescent card and added (Shock-Horror!!!!!) PEEL OFF BORDERS (no, your eyes do not deceive you!) to decorate it. Anyone who knows me knows that I dislike peel-offs immensly. Peel-off borders are the only peel offs that I possess and I use them, especially the decorative type, on gold & silver mirri card as they can look like embossing. They do work well on pearlescent card too. So, I added the peel offs to the mirror which was cut twice, once in mirri card & again in ivory pearl card. I also added some little pearls as added decoration. Three flowers, some gems , satin ribbon & a sentiment complete the card.
