Before the latest DoCrafts launch (Boofle, New Arrival etc) I was given a couple of pieces of paper to try out and make some samples. The paper is Newsprint, and as you would imagine it is full of newsprint pictures, fashion plates, script and even some music paper. It smacks of 'vintage' so I went with it and came up with this, if I say so myself, elegant silhouette card.
The card base is a Z-fold C5 and predominately black and white with a splash of red. I made a rosette from black paper (two 12x1 3/4" strips with the long edges punched) and topped it with a red scalloped circle. I added a print paper circle and the silhouette cut from black glittercard. The silhouette was embellished with pearls to create a necklace and earring, then adhered to the circle with foam tape. The folded edge of the card was trimmed with a punched border of black paper wrapped with red sheer ribbon and embellished with a large bow and a red bloom. A smattering of red and white pearls completes the front of the card.
A second scalloped circle, this time cut from black card and topped with an embossed white circle matted with red, was adhered to the inside back of the card. 'Happy Birthday' was cut from black glittercard and adhered flat to the white circle. A smattering of pearls completes the back of the card.
Carts used:
Scalloped circles- Lacy Labels
Silhouette- Victorian Romance
Circles- George
'Happy Birthday'- Wild Card
Thanks for dropping by!

Such a beautiful card! I'm a big fan of rosettes and I love the way you did this. The pearls are a nice touch!
